Volatility: Practical Options Theory (Wiley Finance)

Phenomenal Book
The author structures this book in a very unique and helpful way. First by setting the stage and offering the concepts in detail, but only an inch deep (this is where most books stop). Then the author outlines the mental models needed to truly grok options and trading. Only after that do you dive into the really nitty gritty math. Its very unique and incredibly insightful. I cant recommend this book enough for those interested in truly options. Zero BS. Zero hype. Just true insight.

Starts off slow and simple but quickly gets into the nitty gritty.
I wish I had this book when I started FX Option trading for an Investment bank back in the mid 90's! All I had to go on then was the relatively fresh Garman-Colhagen adaptation of the BSM model for FX option pricing, Lotus 1-2-3 and thankfully the benchmark Fenics options pricing tool. Anyhow I digress. The book is very well paced and structured - particularly if you just want a refresher, clear up some uncertainties, or you can delve into the proofs if you wish. Concepts are very clearly explained and in a consistent fashion. Again, proofs are on hand to hammer concepts home if you wish.Hands down the best FXO book I have come across for the trader. I have over 25 years experience trading in financial markets and no doubt will read it again in greater depth, and look forward to doing so.

Must-Read
This is no ordinary book, indeed every single sentence is grounded in practise. As a result, the book gives you not only a good knowledge of options theory but also a glimpse at how real traders work. The exposition is clean and fluid such that it is easy to understand even the most advanced concepts. In sum, this book should constitute the backbone of any financial derivatives study: must-read!
