This book is about beige. Beige as the starting point for a whole aesthetic prioritizing simplicity and calm. And no even tho the houses here may appear superficially similiar, each is unique to the discerning eye. Jenni’s house is very much about its site and the canyon surroundings. Sycamores shadows and shade. The other houses each have their own personality. I especially loved her mom’s swimming pool shaded by olive trees. Can’t wait for the book about Jenni’s Santa Ynez ranch. And I’m a maximalist.

Beautiful book , love the quality of it, nice cover, lots of recipes and party ideas. It not an interior design book.After a day I decided to return it because I didn’t think I’ll use any of the ideas in the future.

I am a HUGE fan of Jenni Kayne, and loved the first book. So, I was very much looking forward to this home edition but unfortunately ended up pretty let down by it. I was expecting the book to be filled with Jenni Kayne designed spaces, including pieces from the home collection (furniture, textiles, etc.), and then like the first book, details/explanation on how to create that look in your own home. Instead, the book is more a compilation of homes that inspire Jenni, but most of them (aside from a few in the book) are actually quite different from what you'd see on the Jenni Kayne social feeds and blog. Overall it felt a bit sterile, bland, and unapproachable. I sadly returned the book and hope future book editions might be more true to the brand.

I love curling up with this book, it's calming, inspiring and so true to the Jenni Kayne brand which I absolutely love. It also makes a beautiful shelf styling or coffee table piece.
