Rain Design i360 Aluminum Turntable for 24-27" iMac

The media could not be loaded. Love this item and wish I would have bought it sooner! As a real estate agent, I’m often turning my computer screen around so clients can see contracts and other listings on my screen. This not only eliminates scratching my desk and adding unnecessary fingerprints to my screen, but allows easy effort to rotate my screen so they can best view it and rotate it back if I need to focus on it before showing it to them again. I loved it so much that I purchased another one for my home office and have the other agents in the office wanting to purchase one as well. Would highly recommend. Only complaint is I don’t love that the logo is so big on it. However, I usually have posty notes covering it anyway so I never really notice it any more.

Fantastic design! Just what I needed for my 27" iMac. It is now a breeze to turn the monitor to any angle, like when I use it as a TV for Amazon Prime shows and Netflix, and want to sit at a different location of the room. It is also easier now to plug in cables, or dust the back. I had wanted this for a while but hesitated because of the price, but now feel it is worth it, for the years of stress free convenience it will give me.The inside mechanism and base feels solid and heavy duty, definitely well thought out and not a cheap job. However, the top cover feels like plastic. I wish they would have done the whole thing in aluminum, as it is the unknown of how well the plastic top piece will hold up over time to scratches and discoloration. Although the droplet logo is nice...it is a bit large and distracting. I would have preferred a plain surface, so that it blends in completely for a clean look.Lastly, it only raises up the imac by 1/2". The best thing about this product is also probably the worst: it's very solidly built and has a great grip on your desk. However, that great grip can be a problem if you want to slide your iMac around instead of just rotate it.That said, I do rotate the iMac FAR more than I physically adjust its desk position, so this is a great purchase for my wants. Will say that you need to take a good look at your set up, though. If you leave stuff sitting in front of or behind your iMac, you'll have to train yourself to check and move them before you rotate it. Otherwise, you'll end up with soda cans and picture frames on the floor. Even the wires that you'll probably wrap around the iMac's stand a couple times to keep them from hanging will move and sometimes push things off, so be aware of your desk environment when using the stand.

I have had several Rain Design Turntables, I have had several computers, it’s a must, for me when I buy a new computer. I’m a retired educator, and it’s much easier for students to see from different angles of of what you’re doing on the computer…

I'm very pleased with this purchase. Unlike some competitors, it is purpose designed for use with the iMac. The base of the iMac fits securely within the provided slot, and then is held in place. with a set screw. It simply does not move within the unit. The turning function requires very little pressure, but just enough to keep it from responding to random vibrations in your desk. if anything, it seems that my Mac is more stable on the desk than ever. Indeed, if there can be said to be a downside to this unit, it is that it requires considerably more pressure to move your iMac from one place to another on your desk. The rubber feet under this turntable create enough friction to prevent both accidental or easy deliberate sliding. On the positive side, it's perfect match in colour and finish to the iMac case provides an elegant solution to anyone needing easy or frequent rotation of their computer.

There's really not to much to say about this turntable besides the fact that it works exactly as described. If you're constantly spinning your screen from side to side this item is perfect. Keep in mind that it wont really work if your monitor is up against a wall. In my case I have a desk that is near a futon.... when i leave the desk and lay down on the futon I just spin the screen 180 degrees and I can enjoy a movie or whatever else. Another note of caution, if you have a lot of wires coming out of the back - ie ethernet, usb, headphones, thunderbolt cable, etc. - it's going to be more difficult to spin it around especially if the wires are already taught. The only wire i have coming out of the back is the power line. I use a USB memory stick so it doesnt impact the motion. However if you have an ipod plugged in you can place it on the base of the turntable and movie it along with the screen with ease. Okay, this review is dragging on.... the point is that the product works well, its a bit pricey, but very convenient in the right circumstances.

What a difference this makes. It is so convenient, especially if I want to show someone somthing. They can sit behind me somewhere and I can rotate it a little. It also makes plugging things into the back super-easy. I never liked having to get up and lean all over it and try to remember which way the USB plugs go. This rotates enough that I don't even have to leave my chair. If you do a lot of plugging in and out, I'd recommend setting it a little biased to rotate further around clockwise so you can see all of the ports without having to lean a little bit to the right. It's very smooth and nice looking.
