Love it, and twin smokestacks look super cool!
I've always wanted a Weber but didn't want to spend $400+. So even though I had not heard of Char Griller the deal on Amazon Prime Day was too good to pass up and my old grill was dying before my eyes so I took a gamble since all the reviews were good. It shipped and arrived as expected.Assembly:Ok, assembly was a pain. I used to work at a furniture warehouse and I actually LOVE putting IKEA stuff together so I wasn't worried about assembly at all. The first problem came when the parts packet had opened during shipping. There were 33 little washers strewn all over the box. I didn't find the 33rd washer until two hours into my assembly but eventually did find them all. That was an accomplishment! Other than that assembly was about as expected. It took me about 4 hours sweating in my porch. I was able to do it by myself even though it says two people "required" and I only stripped out one screw. Attached the heavy bottom grill case to the assembled frame was the hardest part (and where I stripped the screw) but there are five other screws so I'm not at all worried about it. It wasn't super hard, just took longer than expected. The box it fit in was a lot smaller than expected as well!Grilling:I LOVE this thing. It gets hot and fast. When I have all three burners lit and turned down to low it stays 400 degrees with the lid down. Turn them up to less than medium and it jumps up to 500 or more. The first time I used it I fried my brats and dogs compared to my old crappy grill. It feels very sturdy, has a large grill surface that is flush with the side shelves (unlike my old one) and a large area on the top warming shelf. My young daughters don't like any "black stuff" on their hot dogs so I cook theirs solely on the warming shelf and they cook perfect without burning. So far I've only made brats and old fashioned wienies, checking kabobs and grilled lettuce (seriously, my wife loves grilled romaine soaked in olive oil, it's surprisingly good!) Now that I know to keep the heat on low so I don't fry my foods I'm loving this thing, it heats up fast and cooks great.Anyone know what I would ever use the side burner for? I can't imagine ever using it.Construction:As I said it feels study and is definitely heavy duty. The top is heavy, the shelves are nice. I even like the two exhaust tubes on the top, I thought that would keep it from holding heat but they have no effect and look cool smoking when you got a good grill on. I like to turn the gas off on the propane after every use and it's kind of a pain to reach (you can see a bar in the picture, well, that bar is right in the way of the top of the propane tank) but other than that it is very good.Overall:I'm very happy with this grill especially for the price! Go ahead and get one, you'll love it!

Great grill for the money
I snagged this grill for about $225 in 2022. I was looking for a solid gas grill but didn't want to spend ludicrous money on a weber, nor did I like how the Nexgrill and Charbroils felt in the stores. Some online research yielded that this CharGriller was a great bang for your buck. After assembling it (it took about 3 hours solo, a partner would be helpful), it fired right up. Assembly instructions aren't the best, but read them carefully and measure twice, cut once, if you will. After cooking on it a few times with basic homeowner backyard fare, I can say it does a fine job. It definitely gets hot, and keeps heat. You won't need to keep the burners on high, it puts out plenty of heat. Flareups do occur, but again, like others people have said, this is not a cadillac grill. I used it to smoke/grill some babyback ribs for the 4th of July. I added a $10 smoke box you can get anywhere, and between that and managing temperature with a remote thermometer, this thing cooked AMAZING ribs. Beat my father's Traeger ribs by far. You don't always need high priced fancy stuff to get good results. Operator knowledge and technique is more than half the battle.Time will tell with longevity, but I do clean it regularly and I purchased the cover specific for this model, so it is protected.Would recommend if you're seeking a quality, versatile grill for the money.

Well worth the money
This is a very nice grill/smoker, its heavy weight steel makes it perfect for heat retention, food cooks faster saving us gas.

Nice grill especially at the price. Still going after 3.5 years
Big grill, high btu's, took me ~2 hours to assemble with 3 elementary school age helpers and the neighbors cat getting in the middle of it. Could probably put it together in 30-40 minutes but the directions are a bit vague at times. For example, some parts are helpfully labeled "this side inward", but "inward" is sort of up for interpretation. Some bolts are different size in what you get vs the directions. I have one long bolt with a wingnut on it leftover but nothing in the instructions seems to call for that.As others have mentioned, you'll have a hard time turning the gas bottle off until the grill cools. The knob is about 1.5" below the drip pan, which gets hot along with the grill. No idea why people are reporting problems getting the gas bottle to fit, mine drops right in. One igniter had no spark until I tweaked the distance between the tip and the burner, then all 3 worked fine.Haven't cooked in it yet. I'll report back if its good or not and if I have any problems with it at all. If you see no reports of problems, I didn't have any! Heated up to >600 in a few minutes, runs around 450 with all 3 burners on low. I like the 'stacks' because you could cover one with an empty can or piece of foil to increase the heat retention inside (meaning one burner on low would give you some decent low and slow) and it looks like you could remove a portion of the right side of the lower casement and probably add on an indirect or smoker box to the side.It does have a lot of gummy machine oil all over it. I let it run to max temp for about 15 minutes, then low for 15 minutes, then shut it off. I'll check tomorrow when its cool but that should have burned it off and helped 'set' the paint on it. A high heat/off cycle like that heats the paint and then lets it 'stick' better, so there is less flaking or discoloration down the line. Whole thing is matte black, so any black grill paint will dress up rust or scrapes. Had a bunch of very minor scrapes and dings from the shipping process, its not really packed very well and lots of the parts are VERY close to the sides of the boxes, so if your box is bashed badly you might consider returning it instead of unpacking it, because you have about zero chance of getting all this back in the box once its unpacked. Paid about $160 for it, can't really get anything this nice at that price point unless you're lucky enough to grab a clearance item at a B&M store. Good luck with that.Edit 2/14/15: I've used this for a little over a year. The bottom of the 'barrel' under the grate collects grease and debris. There isn't enough angle for it to run off. So unless you scrape the gooey debris down into the lower collection tray, you'll have a grill fire eventually. I don't have to do this very often, just once every few months. The bolts all over it are also starting to rust. Nothing serious yet but that's going to be the failure point of the grill eventually. Its just rusting due to the paint coming off from the grill heat. The worst are the four screws that hold the can exhausts on top of the barrel, but I can replace those with a stainless steel screw. I'm guessing this to have about a 5 year life span. I don't cover it, as I've had more problems with moisture buildup under a cover than I've had with a grill getting rained on.Edit 8/10/2015:The rust is setting in. The grate has some heavy rust, one of the 'deflectors' is well rusted, and the bottom half of the 'barrel' is starting to rust. I frequently spray the grill all over the inside with grill oil and its still going. About what I've experienced with cheap painted metal grills before...good for 2-3 years and then they need enough parts replaced to consider tossing it and buying a new one.Edit 5/31/2018Finally ready to replace the grill although I could easily squeeze another year out of it. The burners are rusty but still work, no blowouts. The heat deflectors are pretty rusty but still in one piece. I have the original grates but there's a 2"x2" section that's rusting. Some rust on the bots but it still has structural integrity. Home depot offered a nice 4 burner with ceramic infrared sear side burner for under two hundred, assembled with a free gas bottle exchange and I couldn't pass that up. I'm going to scrape this old one out and leave it out in the yard should I need to cook anything really messy on it.3.5 years with an easy shot at 4-4.5 isn't too shabby for an inexpensive grill.
