G.O.A.T Fire Starter - Comprehensive Review
I know that it’s a bold headline to give this fire starter the GOAT but let me explain why.1) Firstly while there are many amazing fire starter wads and goops and sticks that all work amazing they all have the same problem and that is bulk. In my eyes if your “fire starting kit” is larger than a handful of Bic lighters…then you need to re-evaluate your size to function paradigm. This is so small i literally keep it in my wallet without noticing it. (FYI The wax can rub off onto paper but not dollar bills. So i keep mine folded inside a $50 inside a hidden compartment in my wallet). Ive also rolled them around ferro rods or knives, cut them to fit whatever shape i need, & folded them to create funnels or magnesium or tinder catches/scoops. (its a waste but makes a killer waterproof origami boat)2) It lights up just like cotton or wax dipped twine. To those who struggle to light this…try to fray the end/edge till its fuzzy like a rope. Or you can shred it by running it over a saw or serated knife and make a nice waxy cotton pile. The thinner you can get the strands the easier this lights. That does make this a “slower” fire starting aid…yet still way faster than looking for3) Wax dipped. This alone adds several crazy functions. a) First once its lit you can actually drip the wax and use it as a lubricant for a knife/tool/chain. b) Wax can be used to lubricate the hand end of a bow drill or other items c) Because its covered in wax it can actually be used as a water replant patch to repair your rainfly (its not super strong though so make sure the hole is reinforced to stop further ripping first and then the patch is just acting like a shingle to keep rain out). d) And lets not forget the wax dipped means this is a water resistant fire starting aid despite possibly not being carried in a waterproof case. So you’re not likely to ruin it.4) Cause its rope like to you can use it as a wick as it should draw up the fluid like any cotton wax covered paper.Seriously this fire starter is amazing. Honestly the only one that can even compete with this thing is the wax dipped twine strands you can find online. The spartan fire paper is like the cotton bandana of the fire starting aids (Really hope ya’ll understood that analogy). This is the third time im buying one of their packages. Honestly my only complaint at all is the price. It so amazing though Im really shocked there aren’t cheaper knock offs out there. Need some capitalism driving that price down. Yet despite the price they are so amazing I cant stop myself from buying more…thats how amazing this is.

Great multipurpose item that fits in a wallet
Overall and seems like a very nice product it catches fire really quick lights with a magnifying lens takes a spark exceptionally well fits in my wallet with my grim workshop survival cards and frezenel lens. It's definitely a great addition to any wallet survival kit or EDC survival kit. I'm glad I purchased it I just wish I purchased it sooner.

Fire
Very cool product. Stands up to all the promises. I keep one in my wallet, it gets stuck by the wax melting and cooling but if I needed it I could yank it out eventually.Starts fires well and stats lit like a candle.

Must have. Perfect for your wallet!
You can watch videos or read reviews to see why this is a great product.I only knocked off a star because no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get ignition from a magnifying glass, while I could get it easily from dry tinder. Test conducted in July, full sun, 103°, Mojave desert.

Super compact easy to use
Super convenient to just throw in your wallet and forget it. Sparks easy and burns long. You can easy get several lights off 1 strip if u light and immediately put out. Im in Pacific northwest, works good here with damp air.

Good fire extender, bad for catching sparks…
Meh, I had higher hopes that this would respond to spark better (like cotton soaked in vasalene, or maybe juke twine soaked in parathin. This material is sort of like wax soaked muslin fabric that was difficult to (if not impossible) for me to fluff up. It seems like it would be excellent as a fire extender if you have matches or a lighter, just not what I was looking for in a compliment to a fire steel that I could keep in my wallet.
