Great blades they come well packaged, sharp, and ready to use straight out of the package. They cut very close as expected without any problems of razor bun. They did get hot but the heat was no match for Andis Cool Care. They have worked great and I'll be ordering them again when these get dull (hopefully not any time soon!)

Clean cut right down to the skin. Makes rimming easy. Works on my sideburns and neck hair with ease. Works great on our dogs too!

I have an woolly coat husky - the inner coat is much finer and longer (and curled when wet) than the standard husky hair (dense double coat). I've given my husky a haircut in Spring through Fall for the last 7 years. Some times his hair became extremely tangled and matted, esp. over the winter, and this #50 blade works the best (among I've used: #7, #7F, #10, and #50 so far) for matted hair.This is surgical blade, so this cuts too short for summer shearing, but if your dog's hair is very dense and matted, you won't have other choice.I've tried those blade guards (http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00513G9P6 ), but they didn't work on my husky's hair.If the hair is not so matted, I'd prefer to use #10 (usually comes with the clipper) to protect the skin from the strong UV-ray in my region.

I could not get this blade to cut at all despite washing it and also using coolLube on it. I purchased a different blade which worked seamlessly right out of the box. I would not recommend this blade.
