Works for 2jz Heads.
The media could not be loaded. Works great on my 2004 lexus Is300 head. Thanks to all the people who commented the tips and tricks. I rarely do reviews but I like to pay it forward. Cheers!

Works on 2j motors as well.

Used on EJ25
Simple tool so you can build your dreams. It was so easy to use that I was actually able to build an engine with proper valve lash. Spring retainer seems solid, no signs of wear on the tool. Looks like I’ll be using this for the next time an EJ blows.

Game changer
After hours of failed attempts with quick and dirty methods and home made tools I gave up and next day aired this. It is one of those tools that is worth its weight in gold. Didn’t even struggle with upgraded valve springs that are very stiff. Make sure to lube the threads and have a set of tweezers handy

Not for EJ253 SOHC
Did not fit with camshaft cap on or off over springs on 2006 Impreza 2.5i. Slick too and seems well made if it would have worked.

2JZ is NOT the 2RZ
Purchased this SWEET little tool to help me put the retainers back on my 2000 Tacoma 2RZ engine without removing the head. Maybe 4 existing reviews here had said it also worked on the 2JZ engine, and it sounded almost too good to be true because I have a 2RZ engine, and the reviews made me think it was a 2JZ, and was in such a rush I didn’t get up to check my manual sitting 10 feet from me. It came. It cannot easily be made to work, but I can tell that it is a decent quality tool, if only.

Functional but not well refined
Machining quality is great but fitment is not quite right. Angle of jack screw is off center from the valve stem by several degrees causing a bit of misalignment with the screw, the spacer, and the valve retainer. It's close enough to work but requires you to make sure it's right before applying pressure.Once the locks are out, the free length of the stock springs make the spacer jam into the body of the tool. Not so hard that you can't get them out but you have to push back down a little as you pull to the side. The jack screw appears to be stainless so both metals are prone to galling. Be sure you clean the threads before each use and use a grease or other lubricant. If you do this all the time, spend the money on the Company 23 piece. Otherwise, this is not bad tool for a lot less.

Makes removing the springs a breeze.
It definitely made removing the valve springs and valves much easier. It's a great option if you don't want to spend the extra money on the Company 23 one.
