Mixed feelings
This was my first foray into arcade joystick setups. I bought this on amazon rather an asian site because I wanted the comfort of return and assistance should I get stuck. I can you I already have a new setup on order I plan to replace this with. I think its best to simply list pros and cons.PROSWorked out of the box with retropie and recal which was great. I was up and running in minutes. No bad parts, everything shipped perfectly.Extra pieces, unless I did my math wrong I ended up with more than enough pieces to do buttons and even wire up coinslots.CONSThe general quality is kinda cheap. Its a tad overpriced for what you get.The sticks are very cheap. very loose. The top comes off easily. Kind of annoying. The sticks are smaller than normal arcade sticks, maybe 75% of normal.conclusionWhile I dont think my complaints justify a return I did end up ordering a new set from an asia direct shop with better quality sticks. I think set is probably fine for a kids bartop setup you dont care too much about. I learned the hard way verify what youre getting before hand as much as possible.

Best bang for your buck.
These are indeed great value if you're building an arcade. I just needed to replace mushy factory buttons from NeoGeo MVSX cab. Buttons are Happ clones, with separate micro switch unit attaching at the bottom of each button. Initial feels are great with right amount of travel distance until actuating contact with ear pleasing click.I took 1 star off because of durability issue. I had to replace 2 micro switches already, maybe only after couple hours of button bashing. They were all loose inside when I took them out. Kinda afraid if all of them will go bad sooner or later. If that's the case, I'll just buy genuine Happ micro cherry switches to replace them. I still have small bartop I built over 20 years ago with original Happs, and they still works!

I have bought a few brands and this is my favorite!
I do wish there as an extra few buttons with this package, maybe even four more. This package is big enough for most any arcade, but for a ultra complete system you can use 4 more buttons. Didn't need it for the kit I was building, so I went with this package. I will be buying this kit for now on.

Pretty good but not for Ms. Pacman
Update: Ordered a different joystick from gameguys and using it with this control board it is perfect! The good: Buttons are great, responsive, and work well for all games. The control boards are easy to put together and work well. Simply plug them into the USB ports on a raspberry pi and they work (note you can switch the order on the pi USB ports to change controller 1 vs 2 etc). The control boards don't seem to have any delay .The bad: The joystick is pretty good but doesn't work well for Ms. Pacman (which is a difficult game to find a good joystick for). It works well for most everything else. I've ordered a special joystick for it hoping it will work.If it wasn't for the joystick I would have given it 5 stars.

Great kit for a great price!
This kit had everything I needed for the bartop arcade I recently built. It's easy to wire up, just make sure you wire both USB encoders the same! I opted for the 8-way joystick as there are games such as Robotron that take advantage of it. Other games such as Q*Bert use the diagonal 4-way. It's takes a little bit to get used to 8-way stick on traditional 4-way stick games (pacman, 1942, etc) but it works just fine. The kit contained everything I needed to build a 2 player bartop as pictured!

Good buy
I like these a lot. If you easily have access to the bottom of the joysticks these work great. I have had zero issues with anything from this kit and they have had daily use from my wife a kids since I built this MAME machine. If you need a budget set of controls these work nicely. FYI they are connected to a windows 10 machine.

Garbage
These are garbage. The buttons are usable but the joysticks are not, actually worse than stock arcade1up joysticks. What are you saving if you have to turn around and buy the Sanwas you already wanted anyway?

Encoders & joystick work and feel great. Buttons are noisy and feel less good than arcade1up's.
For my raspberry Pi into arcade1up project.Encoders work perfect and has no delay.Joysticks are very solid and the bat top is smooth. Wires and connectors are better than arcade1up's. No missing parts to make this works. Also wanted some spare parts because arcade1up stock buttons wear fast. But the buttons are a tad bit too small. They are also very noisy (way more than arcade1up's stock buttons). I used two of them for the insert coin button though.

The joystick stopped working after a year
I built a lightly used Arcade machine and I purchased this kit. The joystick appearantly cheaply made and break quickly. The up and down became flimsy and it stopped working.

Quality stuff for such a low price
I built my MAME arcade with these and they see a lot of abuse. Not a single problem after months of use.

Joystick colour doesn’t match button colour.
Buttons are decent joysticks are same as stock Arcade 1up. So not good. Also the blue joysticks is a different shade of blue from the buttons in the set. #dumb.
