I originally bought this product because of its' price and aesthetics but it is a lot better than I expected. I read all the other reviews with speculations as usual and everyone nailed it. The blue ambient lights on the speakers are very subtle, even in middle of the night. USB powered makes it perfect for laptop/PC. It's small is perfect for smaller desks and is simple as can be to connect. All the functionality is on the right speaker cord with a volume slider and no buttons. With this being the last but not least, the sound is a crisp as can be for something priced this low. The only thing that I can't comment on is longevity but everything is worth taking the risk so far. Hope this helps!

These speakers are actually great for the price. The lights aren't too bright like I was worried they might be. I do wish we could turn the lights off, but I digress. They are super functional, the black color I got is very low key. They're super easy to just plug in and use. There is no audio distortion. They are very tiny and portable and would be good if you had to bring them with you elsewhere.

I set out to purchase these speakers because I didn't want to assault my ears anymore all work day with headphone/earbuds anymore. I also wanted:1) It to be powered by one of the available USB ports on my laptop and not have to have a wall power supply since my desk is cluttered as it is with other wires. This uses a USB A plug, so the power levels will be low. At 2W per speaker, don't expect miracles with bass.2) Compact footprint since my desk is already cluttered and these are about the most compact ones available.3) Be a sonic upgrade from my tinny, harsh-sounding LG Gram 17" laptop speakers. I didn't want a single-piece soundbar, but two separate speakers that I could space apart to the left and right of my laptop.4) Not spend much.I'm so happy with the purchase of these super affordable speakers. If you have a high-quality music source and a DSP/equalizer app like DTS:X Ultra (free download) that you're willing to spend seconds setting, the sonic experience is excellent as long as you're not greedy for bass. There's nice detail and there's lush mellowness akin to my Denon HEOS 7 and none of the harshness of my laptop speakers. The styling and bonus mood lighting are a real bonus that they didn't have to do but did.These speakers are best for talk, dramas, classical, orchestral, not-bass-heavy rock heard at modest to moderate volumes in a quiet room. These speakers are not good if you want to hear bass-heavy songs like some EDM or hip-hop or hear rumbling action in shows/movies. The lower bound frequency range is 80 Hz, so it won't capture the deepest bass. Upping the bass in the EQ won't help either. With bass-heavy songs, turning up the volume gets you a numb and anemic representation of what the rumble/thump is supposed to be. If you enjoy lots of bass with still a compact package, you're better off with a USB-C style mini-speaker like the Creative Pebble may be a better choice, and the v3 is about twice the price of these Amazon Basics speakers. If you're not bass-hungry, the low-end will be fine. THINK OF THESE SPEAKERS AS DELIVERING SOUND THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE CASE FOR THE FACTORY LAPTOP SPEAKERS.There is no bluetooth connectivity, but you want a headphone jack wired connectivity for best results anyways.SUGGESTION: On a typical desk the sound is aimed at tummy level. When I angle these speakers toward my ears, the mid-high frequency sonic experience improved significantly. This is no surprise since it's well known high frequencies audio travel in beams while low frequencies radiate in all directions. The Creative Pebble speakers are angled up. If for a couple to a few bucks more, they could incorporate an angle adjuster or just have a fixed tilted angle, that would be awesome.4-STARS OVERALL if under $17. 3-STARS IF BETWEEN $17-$22.

These speakers are amazing for the price! Less than 20$?? And they work this well?? Wow!I’m very picky on my tech stuff. I just had a gaming PC built and I needed speakers that were good enough for my setup . These speakers are easy to use! You just plug them in. The noise level is great. they can get very loud! They’re small which is great. I recommend them!

Exellent value - very good music reproduction, lacking only lowest bass frequencies (80hz is more than adequate, however, for everyday listening) Very clean sound, good balance. The blue LED base light is subtle and attractive. For those like me who don't need/want Bluetooth for desktop use, and have a spare USB-A to power, it would be hard to do better. Not a lot of watts, but decent volume for personal use.

Please consider buying this speakers it's my favorite it's easy to set up it functions the best it works very good it's not so portable you need to install it to your computer it's very small and very very clear music and also extremely cheap

Update: I tried headphones on my computer and they worked. On a whim, I tried these speakers again...and they work now!! WTH?? But everything is good now and I cancelled the return. I changed from 1 star to 5 stars! And I love the soft blue lights!--------------Original:I plugged it into the audio jack on the back of my computer, and nothing worked! I plugged the USB in, and the pretty blue lights came on, but no sound at all. So I plugged it into the headphones jack on the front of the computer, and I still didn't get anything! No matter what I tried, I could not get these things to make a peep. I am returning them. I just got them today! The lights came on, but nobody's home!On the plus side, they are pretty and they feel nice. They are nice and shiny and new! Too bad they don't work!

These speakers work great. They are small so they don’t take up too much room on the desk and they have a good sound quality. They have a soft blue back light which I hardly notice.The only thing that I would have liked to have had on it is the ability to change the volume on the speakers themselves. I had them at 50% and found that to be a bit too loud so I dropped them to 30%. I know most videos have the ability to adjust the volume but when they come on before you have the opportunity to adjust it can be quite blaring.Other than that they are a great value for the price.
