This thing is plain and simple and works great.The temp probe broke off my old thermometer so I had to replace it. Old one had a lot of options on the handle. This one does not. I was a bit concerned about not being able to turn on the light to see the read out in a dark stove or to lock the temp.Neither is necessary with this probe. The readout is well lit. The temp reading is resolved so quickly there is no need for a locked read out.My old therm would gradually get to the reading, say 2 seconds to get there. 107, 108.3, 110, 110.This one just pops to 110 and the only time it changes is when the temperature changes.Absolutely love it!

Excellent! Not only does it give me internal temperatures of what I have on the smoker very quickly, but it gives me good tactile feedback on how tender it is. From brisket to Boston Butts, this thing is becoming indispensable. I should have bought on a long time ago! Makes a great gift for the one you know that grills, runs a smoker, baking chicken and any other cooking needs where the temp of the food needs to be known.

I've purchased many temperature gauges over my life and been disappointed with every one of them. I am not disappointed in this item, I'm thrilled! Finally, one that works and that I trust.

After years of those cheap probes I finally made the jump and I won’t be going back. Actually instant read. Only negative is the lack of decimals but not really a big deal

It is probably the best instant read thermometer you can buy. If you have the spare cash and want a super nice thermometer you will love it. Cheaper alternatives still work good but work slower, this one reads instantly and accurately.

My old one gave out after 15 years. Not a bad run. Ordered this. It works as advertised and Thermapen repaired the old one at no charge as I had purchased this replacement at full price. That was beyond expectations. So now I have two. Sometimes you have to pay a premium price for a premium product with premium customer service. For me, this is one of those times.

This is by far the best meat thermometer we’ve ever had. It’s true - you get what you pay for. This thing is INSTANT and ACCURATE. It has made grilling so much better, and I’ve even used it a few times when cooking inside.As an aside: when we first got this, I opened it up and realized it immediately reads the room temp. So I walked into each room and what do you know, it was correct in every room (same as the Nest reading) - it even lowered 3° in the back bedroom that is always colder than the rest of the house. Pretty incredible.
