Huge microwave
This microwave is massive. Before ordering, I recommend that you measure your shelf, counter or wherever you plan on placing it and make sure it is deep enough. It comes with a child lock which was easy to turn off. We have no reason to use it. After having the microwave for less than a month, it stopped beeping entirely. It wouldn’t even signal that a timer was up. I was very frustrated and called GE support and spoke to the most pleasant person who asked me to check if I had a beeper volume button. Sure enough, somehow it was toggled off (how embarrassing) The inside is very large and I can even fit a larger casserole dish inside. I love the reheat button. I have never had that option previously and so far it has worked pretty well. The beverage button does not heat to the temperature that I prefer. The only thing that drives me entirely crazy is that when something is done cooking, it will continue to beep every minute until forever. I had to change how I make my daily tea so no one at home went crazy through the night hearing it beep and beep and beep and beep…..(you get the picture.)

Awesome replacement to an older GE model!
Perfect fit! I had to replace my 15 year old microwave after my 11 year old daughter cooked a cup of noodles without adding water. The brackets and trim pieces were a perfect fit! I was able to remove about 10 screws and do it myself. If only all kitchen renovations were this easy and cost effective! My coffee no longer tastes like burnt ramen. I researched my old model and this one and the measurements were almost identical. New trim pieces are almost as expensive as the microwave so this was a no brainer.

I highly recommend this microwave!
This is my 2nd GE countertop microwave. By 2nd, I mean I purchased the SAME microwave again! That should say something about that microwave. My 1st I had for I think at least 10 yrs. I use a microwave daily. I nuke coffee, tea, soup, leftovers, etc. etc. etc.My 1st one never stopped working. It always worked perfectly. My problem is the panel began to dim. I could see the clock and the times I set pretty well if my kitchen was dark but I could no longer see it clearly in the daylight. I asked my son about fixing it. He said you know it's going to eventually go out totally. Well! I panicked.I truly love this microwave so much I searched for a replacement of the same model. This model is an updated version but it still works almost just the same. My only problem is I don't like change so I have to get used to the updated controls. Other than that I still nuke things for the same amount of time as my older one.

Good, simple to run unit.
Nice unit, did not need a hi-power microwave, did not need one with all the bells and whistles some come with today, must a plain old radar range. This new GE one at 1200 watts, is 100 watts lower than the one I replaced. That older one was 31 years old and still working fine, but the wife wanted something with a bit bigger oven area. From what we have discovered, this new one does a much better job that the old one, it seems the dispersion of the microwave is better, leaving no cold spots inside it. It is quieter, but in overall heft, the old Korean made GE is made of more substantial materials weighing in about 8 pounds heavier than this Chinese made GE that is about 1/3 bigger than the old unit. Let's see if this one lasts 31 years. I originally tried to purchase this exact unit from a local big box store that said they had one in stock when checking on line, but verified by phone before driving there, and they had none. So ordered it for in store delivery, should have been there Monday, it was not. The over an hour fiasco of trying to talk to someone, with their final answer of the were not sure when it would get here, I had to call the corporate number to get someone to talk to and I cancelled that order. I immediately ordered this same unit at the same price from Amazon, and it was here the next day. Local stores are shooting themselves in the foot.

Great GE Sensor Microwave Product
This is my first GE microwave. I bought it after buying a department store defection name brand microwave that was always great in the past. This is the largest cubic foot appliance which helps me cook effectively using my microwave safe dishes. I don't just use it for hot water for tea or to freshen store bought scones. I make baked potatoes easily which are done. The sensor cooking component works very well. Baking processed food products works well if the products are tasty. Some products are on the conveyer belts too long and aren't good quality. I enjoy using it!

Caught on fire, very unsatisfying response from GE
33 days after purchase, wife pressed start button. Appliance caught on fire, and house filled with smoke. Thankfully I was home, and removed to outside. Spoke with GE, and only thing I would do is send me a certificate, which I could redeem WHEN I purchased another GE appliance. Obviously, that is not going to happen. Also makes me wonder why GE did not want product back to analyze problem. Makes me wonder if they didn’t need to as they have seen before?? Staff I spoke with tried to be helpful but hands were constrained by corporate policy. Beware of this product
