This has been the best monitor! I've owned it for over 8 years and it's "watched" 4 children. It has been dropped more times than I'd care to admit and has been packed up and moved (also dropped) a ton. The antenna has been re-glued 3x on the monitor, and the camera's antenna is currently hanging by a thread.My point of saying this is that the vtec monitor system has been very heavily used and abused and continues to work amazingly well. The range of this is also shocking. We have 5 acres and it works all the way in the back of the property. I have been handed down other cameras, but nothing works like this so I've continued to pass them on.I have two cameras set up and I love the option to switch back and forth between sleeping children. I also appreciate the temperature control alarm when we're camping. The camera is clear, the speaker is clear (over time it's become difficult to hear on the camera end what we are saying, but it worked great for about 6 years). I came on Amazon to see if I could just buy another monitor, but looks like I'll have to buy the set. I am pleased they still make this camera and that the price is very reasonable. I will be purchasing this same set. If you want a monitor with amazing range and longevity, this is the one for you!

Way better than two previous brands I tried--and a good price. Large, clear, detailed display that allows a wider angle of view. Excellent range. Smooth videos without choppiness. A snap to set up and intuitive to use. Highly recommended.

I purchased this monitor over a year ago, and it has been wonderful. We have had absolutely no problems with it. The battery life on the parent unit is very good, even after daily use for over a year. The range is excellent as well - I can walk down the street 3 or 4 houses and still have good reception. (It could probably go even farther, but just haven't tried it.) In addition, there have been no problems with interference from our wifi or anything else.Despite some of the reviews, I think the picture is very good and quite clear, maybe not wonderful, but come on, this is a baby monitor, not meant to shoot high resolution videos. I can see my little one very well with the night vision, and when the camera is positioned correctly and zoomed, I could see the rise and fall of his breathing in the early months when the SIDS fear/paranoia was at an all time high for this first time mom. The zoom isn't very clear, but it did the job. No, you can't move the camera using the parent unit, which would be nice but shouldn't be a problem when your baby is confined to a crib. And for toddlers...well, do you really need to watch them every waking/sleeping minute? Plus, if you can hear them moving/doing something and see they are not in bed, common sense should tell you to check on them.As for the white noise, you can turn the sensitivity down, which worked for me (3 is our magic number). Even when I have it set at the highest sensitivity, the white noise really isn't that bothersome. I've never had problems falling asleep, and it has definitely never woken me up.The additional features on this monitor are an added bonus. The lullabies are pretty good, and we've used them a few times. The room temperature indicator is pretty accurate, and you can set an alarm to sound if it gets too hot or too cold in the room. The best thing is the ability to talk to your child through the monitor. I don't think you will find this feature in any other monitor in this price range.Maybe some of these units are flawed, or maybe people have unrealistic expectations for a monitor in this price range or any baby monitor for that matter. I don't know. All I know is the monitor I received was well worth the money and then some. It can compete well with many of the higher end monitors, and is much higher quality than most of the others in this price range. (I've tried others out.)Bottom line...try this monitor and decide for yourself. If you receive a unit like I received, I guarantee, you won't need or want to return it. And with Amazon's A-Z return policy (and free returns for this item), what do you have to lose?

This camera setup is good quality. Battery life is good will last hours without charging the screen. Picture clarity could be better tho. Its not horrible but sometimes I can’t see whether my babies eyes open or closed even while zoomed in. Other then that its reliable and gets the job done.

First I love the size of the monitor it's the biggest monitor we've had but I love it the video quality is great in color/ day time but at night/black and white any movement looks glitch and choppy but looks fine if things are still. But everything else is great the sound quality and battery life is long and the settings are easy to use and adjust, it also links very easily. The brightness can changeto however you'd like as well. I love that the monitor doesn't heat up when it's charging. Another con is the kick stand isn't exactly in the center on the back of the monitor its like off to the side its odd and just falls over if i stand it up on my bed or couch it needs to be completely flatIn order for the stand to work and be reliable but other then that I'm satisfied with this purchase. By far the best monitor I've gotten
