I bought this for my 11 year-old son who has a hard time staying focused on most tasks. He ate this book up, actually read the opening pages himself and started drawing. I haven't been able to get it out of his hands in the three days since it arrived. Easy to understand, filled with examples and humor (like the tri-colored Neopoli-Tyrannosaurus that stalks people at ice-cream stands, and "notes" from the editor throughout) and up-to-date interpretations (like feathers on some species we didn't previously picture that way) and a short discussion on the history of artists' depictions of dinosaurs. The author encourages the young artist to go beyond static forms and shows how, simply and easily, to add the appearance of motion and different views of the dinosaurs- not just a standing profile. A charming, good-natured and extremely useful guide to learning to draw more realistic looking dinosaurs which I expect to see influence his ability to see line and shape and shading as his interest expands to other subjects.... This book is very, very helpful and informational on how to draw dinosaurs no shock there. In the book you will find step by step instructions on how to create all kind of dinosaurs like the Triceratops, pteranodon, and everyone’s favorite the mighty T-Rex. I would definitely recommend this to anyone seeking to draw dinosaurs my only advice is to practice every day to keep getting better and to read the book to understand the details of making a dinosaurs.

This book helps you draw dinosaurs starting with simple shapes. My kids love it, and I have had a lot of fun as well. I love the author’s sense of humor. Each dinosaur gets a whimsical color scheme or silly situation. I strongly recommend this book.

Really great book! The instructions are easy to follow, and the illustrations are great - even with some humor! I bought this for my 7 year-old's birthday, and he was so excited because he loves dinosaurs! He's only been able to draw stick figure dinosaurs, so this will help him develop his love for drawing!

My son loves this book, and it helped him to draw better dinosaurs right away. He was worried it would be too "little kid"-ish for him, but it gives you examples in multiple styles, including cartoonish as well as detailed, so it works for him. I haven't flipped through it much, but it appeared to be a good quality print book.

Bought for my artistic daughter. She's already drawn several realistic looking dinosaurs plus a frolicking velociraptor too! Easy to follow instructions and plenty of advice on how to adapt the basic structure to your own imagination - an absolute must for artistic dino fanatics everywhere!
