Update: Do not buy Cannon Downriggers!!! I'm changing to one star. Wish I could do negative stars. Thought these downriggers might last longer than the ones I purchased last year but I was wrong. These broke on a charter this past weekend 25 miles out. Don't waste your time with Cannon products.I purchased the 10 STX last year for Fishing Charters and commercial fishing. The two downriggers I purchased both broke within 3 months. Cannon said I could ship them back to them for repair. I'd have to pay shipping both ways and pay for parts and labor. These new 10 STX-TS' look exactly the same except for the stainless steel parts. Hopefully these will last but I really hate that Penn stopped making their downriggers. I have two that are over 15 years old and work great but they are on my other charter boat. I'm really disappointed with Cannon and their customer service as of now. It's pretty bad when you're making your living 50 miles out at sea and the product you've only used twice breaks on day one of a five day trip. I'm still going to give these 3 stars in hopes of them lasting half as long as my Penn downriggers.

Both units have malfunctioned/broken within the first 15 fishing trips. Handle grip popped off. Clutch malfunction/disc failure. Definitely NOT recommended. Spend your money elsewhere.

$600. Item. Terrible quality control. Non existent Customer Service
i received 1 of 2 cannon Uni-Troll STX-TS downriggers. The insert base that secures the downrigger to the mounting base was never threaded. So far ZERO help from Cannon after leaving 4 messages on their 1-800 line. The nearest service center is 350 miles away and I cant use the downrigger I get the part. I am afraid I will find the same problem with the second downrigger when it arrives. Most likely will have to cancel my week long Trip to Flaming Gorge since I will not be able to use the downriggers and lose my hotel deposit. I bought thru Amazon but not their fault.Shame on Cannon for not at least returning my calls. CANNON PRODUCTS.......NEVER AGAIN.
