Probably the best purchase I have made in awhile.
Update: I've had this chair for 2 or 3 years now and it is still my office gaming chair. I've moved to two different apartments since I wrote this and so there is some wear and tear from the move such as torn faux leather. There is now a tear right under where my hand would rest on the front side of the right hand rest and tears where my calves are on the leg rest. Ive had one part loosen on me during this whole time which is the bolt on back part of the chair where it connects with the arm rest, but that was easily fixed by re-tightening it.It is still the most comfortable chair in my house. I might get another one to replace this one soon for the grey fabric one for a change in breathability. To remedy the sweatiness in the summer, ive tied a hoodie around the head rest so that the back of covers my back from the leather of the chair. Its extra cushion and keeps me from sweating.Either than that, it is still going strong. Hope this update helps.Backstory: I am not a professional reviewer or pro gamer. Every now and then I will write a review on stuff because I feel like good products need honest support and reviews.I'm an older gamer and I'm 5'8 and 220 lbs. I'm a console gamer that likes long video games like Monster Hunter World and will sit in a chair for an entire day grinding it out when time lets me. Before this chair I was a "worn in office chair" kinda guy. I work hard and felt I deserved an upgrade, so i set out for my 1st gaming chair. I did a fair amount of research on Amazon, Engadget, Youtube... etc. and read all of the reviews here, so I knew I was looking for a chair for an open spot in my room and not for a desk. Unless you have a presidential sized desk, this is definitely a mini recliner type of chair and set for open spaces. Anyway, here's my honest review.Delivery: This will probably be my only complaint. I live in a not so nice neighborhood in San Diego and the Amazon driver literally left this thing in front of my apartment building. My apartment building is not hidden or enclosed. The front of my apartment is a very busy street. In my instructions on the app, I had clearly left instructions not to leave the box anywhere on the premises and to give me a call as I wont be home till after 3pm (work). He dropped it off sometime around noon, no phone call and right in front. Literally right on the sidewalk, leaning on the building and abandoned it. If i was not tracking the delivery at work and didnt drive like a bat out of hell, this chair would now be sitting in someone else's house. What the F...? Luckily, the box is nearly 5ft tall and weighs about 80lbs. The bad thing is that it comes in a generously labeled RESPAWN box and not an Amazon box. The entire neighborhood now knows that i own a $300 gaming chair. Thank you Amazon.Note: Anyone smaller should get some help, but people with a little muscle shouldn't have a problem carrying this inside. I carried this up 1 flight of stairs into my apartment with little to no problem. It took me no longer than 30 mins to put together. The instructions are helpful and really isn't too complicated to put together. The bolts and washers are nicely packed in a sealed package. Almost like Duracell batteries. As a matter of fact, they add parts in case you happen to lose some. There's also some youtube unboxing videos in case you need help.1st sit experience (Upright Position): The closest thing I can describe sitting in this chair is like sitting in the passenger seat of a nice luxury car. Think the cockpit of a BMW 7 series or a Porsche Carrera. The faux leather is nice and super cushy, but firm to the point that its comfortable, but gives you ample support. Soft enough so that it feels great to the skin, but not real leather so you're not sliding around in it. Even as stocky as I am I can still shift my butt from one side or the other comfortably. It is snug enough that it feels super comfy but not restricted enough that this felt like a child's chair. I felt as if maybe I would need a lumbar pillow, but the ergonomics of the chair hasn't really given me the yearning to get one. The support feels great simply put.Note that he chair is warm. I normally am a person who runs warmer than most and luckily it's starting to get cooler here or I would be sweating. Faux/real leather is notorious for not breathing and will use your body heat against you. Just an fyi...The pillow is perfect for my height and is super comfortable. It's great neck support if anything as the ergonmics fit the curvature of my back very well. I've not felt a need to detach it yet and I'm a dude who can care less for pillows. The armrests are wide and covered in the same faux material. They're sturdy and again, super comfy. The cup holder is on the left side and as said in other reviews can fit cans of soda but nothing xl. I've used it for my vapes and glasses since I have a small folding table next to my chair anyhow. Resting your arms on the full rest though, it feels really comfortable and you can easily forget that the cupholder is there. There is the pouch under the left armrest, but honestly, I havent used it for anything. Probably could do without it.Unlike the reviews I've read, I cannot feel the bars in the chair. It is too plush. Then again, i cant say that its fairly worn in yet. It still has the new sheen to it. With the lack of a better description, I felt like Professor X in his super futuristic hover chair. In the upright position my feet touch the floor and I can imagine you can comfortably have hours of long conversations or can do a copious amount of paperwork in this position. Very nice. Was feeling super happy about my purchase.Lounge Position: This is probably the most used position as I've only had it for a week and half. There are 2 levers on the side. 1 is to recline and the other is to lift the leg rest. The mechanism is kinda loud and a little clunky, but if you think about it, even of the smoothest Lay-Z-Boy, their mechanisms aren't quiet either and they're in a full enclosure muffled by heavy fabric. This chair isn't too much louder for being out in the open and it's sturdy. No complaints there. Kudos in effectively hiding it though. The position for gaming is just right. Fair warning, this chair will make you sleepy. I was literally fighting sleep an hour into playing, my first time using it and I had to quit to take a nap after. The leg rest could be a tad higher, but really is comfortable and super sturdy where it is at. Sitting in it with my legs out, the leg rest reaches to right below my calves and right above my ankles. Perfect. I can fold my legs and push down with my feet and it is sturdy enough where I can shift myself up without feeling like its going to give. Nice design. again...as I said, super sturdy.Fully laid back: Best thing I can compare it to is laying back in the passenger seat of a nice car. You're not exactly laying flat but you are comfortable, but unlike a bed, obviously restricted. It would be comfortable to nap in, but really I havent found a reason to use this position for anything yet. Conclusion: Great chair. I will definitely put many miles on it. I would say, if you're not looking to buy a $500 gaming chair, but you want a nice one for you're own personal use, you can't go wrong with this one. From watching Netflix to gaming, I could sit in this thing for hours with no problem. It's definitely high quality for the price.

Read this before listening to the bad reviews (LOVE this chair so much)
Okay, I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this chair and it was such an incredibly difficult decision to make given all of the bad reviews so I want to address the pros & cons people have been posting in hopes of helping you reach a decision faster. So here it goes.- "easy to assemble" Yes, it was easy to assemble. I do not assemble things. I do not have much experience assembling anything and even I could figure it out. So if you aren't savvy like me, you'll be fine. It took me about 1 hour to assemble with no help in a small room with crummy lighting. If this sort of thing comes naturally to you then you'll have it done much quicker. The instructions are pretty clear and it was not frustrating like I thought it would be. 5/5 easy to assemble.- "Poor Quality" I'm surprised I saw so many of these comments? I've owned about maybe 3-4 gaming chairs now (including this one) and this one is by far the best quality. I mean, if you're looking for top notch the best in the biz something that will last +15 years then maybe you're looking for a $500+ chair. I plan to upgrade myself with a $500-$1,000 chair in the future but for the price I paid for this one? Oh my gosh. It's great. I don't need it to last forever because that's not what I'm paying for. 5/5 quality. Please note I just bought this chair about 3 weeks ago so it hasn't experienced it's normal wear and tear yet.- "a loud clunking noise when you lower the handle for the foot rest" For real? Lol Yes it does make a noise but it's really not loud and definitely not a dealbreaker. I would have missed out on a great chair if I didn't buy it for only that reason. 4/5 noise level I guess?- "uncomfortable" WHAT EVEN. I don't understand! I'm so comfortable! I work 10 hour days 5 days a week and have owned it for 3 weeks now. I am so comfortable it's ridiculous. My back pain is gone and I'm just overall satisfied with this chair. This is so bizarre to me because other people claim that regular gaming chairs (such as the last one I bought, KILLABEE Massage Gaming Chair) are more comfortable. Whaaaatttt. Gaming chairs like that don't even compare to this one. In my personal opinion, it's: regular office chair -> Killabee -> Respawn -> $500+ chairs or something in that order.- "not suitable for tall people" CORRECT. Yes, true. Okay, so here's a very important con: this chair is reallyyyy not suitable for tall people. I am 5'0. In other words, I'm really frikin short. The arm rest cup holder BARELY aligns with me. It's almost just perfect for someone my size. It's only a little bit off. And the neck support is, again, only a little bit off. I have to realign it every time I lay down but it's no biggie. HOWEVER, for everyone else who is taller than me (which is most people) I can definitely see why you would be uncomfortable in this chair. The headrest pillow isn't designed to move very far from its initial place so tall people can't adjust it to what would be comfortable for them (although you can remove the headrest altogether, so keep that in mind).- "back pain" As you can see from the picture I bought a lumbar support pillow and that did the trick. No back pain at all and I was having MAJOR back pain issues with my last chair. I also bought a seat cushion which helps out tremendously.- "the material will cause you to sweat" Yes. It does get hot, which is why I have a fan pointed at my face throughout the day. I was already doing this before I got the chair so it just became a habit but it seems to do the trick.- "no height adjustment" Correct. There is no height adjustment for the chair. This does not bother me. If it bothers you then you may want to look elsewhere.- "awful, not worth the money. I found holes" Honestly, I have no explanation for this. That's unfortunate. Maybe they got sent one that's broken? Mine came in with all of it's pieces and nothing is torn or broken.Overall I really love this chair. The best gaming chair I've ever owned. I do not use it for gaming. I use it for work since I work from home and I work 10 hour shifts so I do spend a large amount of the day in the chair and I feel perfectly splendid at the end of the day. If you are picky when it comes to gaming chairs and you need to be able to adjust the height, you need outstanding quality, you need it to be adjustable for a tall person then oh my gosh DON'T BUY THIS. You will hate it. If the cons I mentioned don't really bother you or if you are a woman/man of my stature (5'0, 140lbs) and are looking for a comfy chair that is worth the price THEN BUY THIS. It's perfect for you! I am so happy with this chair and if you are thinking it's too pricey. Nah, bro. Just do yourself a favor and buy it.Anyways, thanks for reading my essay. Have a good day!
