Easy to follow instructions
Love this kit! I gifted it to my sister and I was surprised at how easy to follow the instructions were. Makes the most adorable little reindeer and is a great little project

Terrible Instructions
Instructions are difficult to follow, hard to read, very tiny print, crochet hook provided is sized for thread crochet but the yarn provided is "milk-cotton" resulting in a crochet hook too small to use with the yarn provided. The only good thing is the ornaments provided to decorate the tree.

Begginer Friendly... Somewhat. Deffinetly an adult kit, or an advanced kid kit.
If you are new or newer to crochet be sure to watch the video carefully, as if you aren't careful with the slip stitch you're round stich counts will be off.The yarn is somewhat fiddly, as in it often wants to seperate into single strands which can be annoying to work with. The yarn is soft in your hands. The biggest disappoint to me, was instead of saftey eyes, they provide flat eyes, and a hot glue stick to attach them to the snow man. the branches and the nose both have notches to keep them in the snow man, but it isn't overly secure. I'd probably in the future, attach nose before closing up the head, and double seccure it with hot glue on the inside just to insure it's going to stay put. the fluff ball at the end of the hats is just a cotton ball. I tried it and didn't like it, so I used spare white yarn to create a pompom and used that instead and it looked much better.Over all I felt it was somewhat fiddly to complete, the eyes were a disapointment, but the kit does contain everything to complete three snowmen (and if you crochet tightly you can likely make at least one more), and the project was enjoyable to complete.

Super cute kit with unusual extras
I've been reviewing a LOT of crochet kits here and this is a bit of an unusual one as it comes with a lot of little extras I haven't seen in other kits. The instructions are pretty good, as good as you're probably going to get in one of these kits; there's a booklet for basic stitches which I think is adequate especially if you're already crafty/handy, plus a QR code where you can go to get online video instruction if you need it. There is a second leaflet for the tree pattern itself. The instructions are in the typical computer/AI translated stilted English, but make sense if you just think about it for a bit... for example, "wait for combination" really means "set this piece aside for later assembly", "root" refers to the tree trunk, and "edging" refers to the garland for decorating. I also think there's an error in the first part of the tree instruction when they say "layer" when I think they really mean "row", which can be confusing because there are both rows and layers in the construction of this tree. There is also some glue assembly required after you've done all your crocheting, which I don't love, so I'm going to try and figure out how to just use stitching for that. What I do LOVE about this kit is that once you get the tree done, you also get the fun of decorating it. They've included a LOT of little fuzzy pompoms in assorted colors, and a package of very cute metal enameled charms to use as decorations. You can also add any little bits that you have lying around your craft room such as leftover yarn, tiny jingle bells, buttons, or the like. There is plenty in the kit alone to decorate the tree, though. As well as the usual stuff (yarn, stuffing, hook, row markers, glue stick) the kit also comes with a box of flat-headed pins which is a first for any crochet kit I've had, and these are handy for holding pieces together during assembly.

The directions aren't exactly clear.
I'm not a beginner, but I wanted to try this out. The directions look easy to follow, but I'll update my review after I complete this tree. The stitch markers will break as they're cheap quality. I recommend getting metal stitch markers, using Bobby pins or a scrap of yarn. The yarn is soft, but the strands are separating (it may just be the type of yarn required for this item).Update:This pattern is definitely not beginner-friendly. Certain parts of the directions are confusing. For all five pieces of the tree body, the directions start out by saying "ch 2, start 6 dc in a magic ring". You need to make the magic ring first (or you can chain 4, slip stitch into the first chain, chain 1 to lock the ring, then make 6 dc into the center of the ring; I like this better than the magic ring). Each round starts with chain 2. If you finish a row, then start the next row, you will have big holes in each tree layer and you'll wonder what you did wrong. (For the first two sections I followed the pattern. For the remainder of the sections, I improvised the pattern. See the attached puctures.) To correct this, after you finish a row, slip stitch into the top of the first dc of that round. The chain 2 is not a stitch, skip over that and slip stitch into the first double crochet then continue to the next row. Chain up the 2 stitches. In the same stitch that you slip stitched into, start your double crochets as directed in the pattern. Continue this for each round of each layer. The directions for fastening off each layer is also odd. To fasten off, slip stitch into the top of the first stitch of the last round, chain 1, then cut the yarn 3 inches away from the piece, pull that tail through your chain to secure it.The tree trunk is straight forward and clear (except for fastening it off). Start with the magic ring, and follow the pattern. This is completed in the round, so there's no need to slip stitch after every row. Fasten off by slip stitching into the first stitch of the final row, chain 1, cut a 15 inch tail then pull it through your chain to secure. The stars...🙄These directions aren't very clear, so start with your magic ring (I chained 5, slip stitched into the first chain, chained 1, then made the single crochet into that ring). After you finish the 10 sc, slip stitch into the top of the first sc of the row. Row 2: Chain 4 and follow the directions for those 4 chains: sc in second chain from the hook, hdc in the third chain, dc in the fourth chain. After that the directions state empty a stich, ss in the next stitch. After the dc, skip the next sc (on the ring), then slip stitch into the next stitch. You'll repeat this 5 times. After the 5th arm of the star is done, slip stitch into the next stitch (at the base of the first arm).Note: if you're using the magic ring, you have to weave in the tail of the ring, or your work will unravel. Due to the small size of this tree, I prefer the method I've described above. To assemble the star, you'll need wire cutters.

Do not buy
The pice tag is reflective of the quality.of the product, the yarn basically falls to pieces, and also the hook is a terrible shape. I do not reccomend

Finished product is adorable
This kit comes with everything you need to make a whole family of snowmen. The quality is decent and for the most part the instructions are good. They were fun to make and very quick due to the small size. They made great mantle decor for the holidays.
