Works perfect and great value
I just used this set on my Ibanez acoustic and it came out great. My first setup. I was proud of myself, but I really think the tools in this set made it easy. You will need a crowning tool. Get a good one. it will finish your job to perfection, I bought this because my long time tech retired and for the cost of this set I can now maintain my guitars going forward. I setup will take you about 90 minutes total and if done right it will give you alot of satisfaction. The big worry is the truss rod adjustment. Do your YouTube research and you'll be fine. BTW - my truss rod was stuck - i was able to un stuck it thanks to some online research, 3in1 oil and a week of patience.

Kind of cheap.
Everything works except the crown file. It's slow and files school bus shaped fret crowns.

Everything is fine, except for the fret file.
Everything is really well-made except for the fret file. It's a good weight and does file down Fret's, but the file grooves are very rough, and do not produce a smooth result consistently. You have to clean this file with a brass brush after almost every fret, otherwise a piece of metal might be left in the grooves, and that will gouge the next fret you try to file.

Nice set of tools
Here are my thoughts on each of the three pieces in the fret leveling set:Fret rocker -- extremely nice and thick chunk of metal in the perfect trapezoid shape, so you can use the longest end on the lowest frets and shift to the shorter ones as the higher frets get closer together. I'm not a machinist but the sides look straight to me. Sure beats using credit cards and those little rectangle string height rulers, which is what I'd been doing previously.Leveling beam -- considerably heavier than an aluminum one I have, and also seems perfectly straight as far as I can tell. The extra weight allows you to sand down frets using the beam's own weight and not try to figure out how hard to push. Nice upgrade even though already having a beam was a reason I hesitated to get this. Comes with an assortment of sandpaper in the requisite length.Notched straight edge -- this only has notches on one side, but they're set up so they still work on a variety of guitars. I got it to seat properly in numerous acoustics and electrics. It's not the best fit for my seven-string, but even there I was able to at least get it sitting among the frets well enough to give me a sense of the neck's relief. The non-notched side can also check that your frets are straight after you sand them with the beam. This package upgraded my sanding beam and filled two big holes in my collection of guitar tools with the notched straightedge and the fret rocker. It's certainly not the cheapest version of these tools, but the nice, heavy metal construction makes it worth it.

Indespensible tool for luthiers
I can't tell you how often I've held up a guitar and looked down the neck to see if it's flat. I've sanded frets buy hand and with light files with mediocre results. I wish I'd had this tool way back when. The flat side of the straight edge will tell you if your frets are level. I always thought that was enough. The gauged side of the bar will show you instantly if your neck is flat. If the distance from the fret height to the fingerboard varies your intonation will be off.Anyone who has done this will tell to to go super slow when sanding. It's easy to go too far. Re-fretting the board is no fun so go easy. The adhesive backed sandpaper will stick to the sanding block. Because it is a straight edge too you should be able to level the frets evenly.I realize this tool is expensive and for a particular type of instrument lover. Next time I go rummage shopping I'll have this to check the necks of potential "bargains".UPDATE - I was sure the neck on my Strat was perfect. (2nd pic) It wasn't. This tool helped me see that and helped me fix it perfectly.

Great kit for learning to do fret work
This was my first full fret leveling and crowing job. I’m very happy with how it turned out. This kit has everything I needed and a few of my frets were pretty out of whack. Careful because the leveling beam really works. The spacer is a nice straight flat edge for setting the truss rod when you’re done too. The crowning file isn’t great but it did the job with minimal damage to the board. Definitely gave me confidence to do the work myself at least on the cheaper guitars.

Only two out of four items in this set is usable
The media could not be loaded. While this seems to be a good set of fret leveling tools on paper, the quality is far from desirable.First, the fret ruler is made of cheap and soft aluminum and it arrived bent. The edge to measure the fretboard straightness seems to be flat when compared to the small fret ruler and the sanding beam but I wouldn't count on the longevity of this ruler.Second, the fret crowning file's sanding cavity feels very wide and shallow. This means that if you file too much, you'd end up with a fret that is flatter than properly crowned. Moreover, the flat edge of the file has an abrasive texture on it. This is not good because you may end up filing down and damaging the wood around the frets. I would not recommend this file for fret crowning at all.Third, the sanding beam feels nice and straight but I do wish that the sandpaper covers the entire length instead of having a seam in the middle. This means that there's a chance the sandpaper could peel off from the middle if you're sanding fret sprouts on the fingerboard edge.Fourth, the only useful tool in this set is the fret rocker ruler. The ruler is made of steel alloy of some sort and the edges are straight. In conclusion, I think a three-star rating is generous for this set given that two of the four items are useful. If you're looking to get this set for the crowning file and the fret ruler, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
