Perfect Shelf Set Up for the Discerning Shopper
Perfect for the money! I live in an apartment and wanted something for my bookshelf that was better looking and certainly better sounding than a boombox, but more price conscious and less involved than an AV set up. This hits the sweetspot of sound quality, build quality, and functionlity very nicely. The speakers sound robust - no tinny tweeters - and have nice little feet on the base so they stay put if you bump them accidently. Additionally, their output is tremendous! You can really dial in between volumes needed for soundtrack and metal. The volume knob has a very satisfying resistance to it, it doesn't feel cheap and flimsy, so delightful --- if you even get close enough to it to use the knob because it comes with a very nice remote. The remote also has built in feet and I just really appreciate the feel of it in the hand and the presence of of it - you wont misplace or drop it accidently. Does not come with batteries, which is fine, but be aware. The bluetooth function is easy to use and a delight to have. The drive is only good for a single cd at a time, but for the money and the tech age, expecting more from a shelf set up is where the buyer should be looking into AV/Surround products like Onkyo, Yokohama, etc. Im so enamored with it in the bedroom that I may lose my mind and buy one for the living room for the vine alone. If you're back and forthing over a different model, go with this one - the brand name recognition is what drove me but quality is what convinced me. Its a superb little set up for a small space. Cons? Maybe the power cord is a little short? But that's really neither here nor there.

Fantastic! Just what we needed.
After many long weeks of research, we decided on this Panasonic Unit. It was sold out many weeks in a row from Amazon and Direct from Panasonic. We can see why. It's simply a wonderful compact CD player. It looks sleek and nice, perfect size, easy to operate, has a very good and compact and cute remote control with nice large buttons and is legible, and above all, it just works great and sounds wonderful. Every CD we put in, whether made in USA or overseas, just works and loads fast. Very clear sound, really good bass and low end and good trebles, and all genres of music sound fantastic on it. Enjoying all our old CDs very much. Bluetooth works seamlessly and has very good volume. LCD panel very clear. And a huge bonus...it has a front headphone jack!!! That is an absolute must. We've seen many CD players now that don't have it and can't understand why wouldn't manufacturers include one? For listening when we don't want to disturb anyone during the day or at night, it's a standard must and we are very happy to see Panasonic included a headphone jack on this unit. It works great and is very clear. My only wish is that Panasonic had other color / finish options besides just pure Black. Like a warm cherry wood or white would have been really nice to fit different decors. But, all in all, fantastic unit. Very Happy with the unit.

Very good with a few quibbles
I really like this stereo... very good sound quality, easy to use, good value for the price, reliable bluetooth connection. I only have a couple of quibbles.First, there is no aux input. I do have an old iPhone 4 that I sometimes use for streaming, and I would have liked to use it with the audio output jack, but can't.The other quibble is with the CD player. First of all it has no memory. If you stop the disc, it doesn't remember where it was, and if you want to pick up where you left off, you have to try and remember, then step through all the tracks again, and you can't go backwards from track 1 to take a shortcut to higher-numbered tracks as other CD players do. Also, the readout of the CDs is inadequate; it doesn't show you title and artist information, and if you want to see the track number, you have to use the remote see it, and then it goes back to the lame "CD" readout when it goes to the next track.

Sounds good and is easy to use!
I have owned many Panasonic products over the years and wanted a small stereo to link with Bluetooth on my phone, which I had never done before. This is a great stereo. It has a fairly small footprint and a really good sound. Syncing with my phone was easy and the phone can be in another room and still works great.

Seriously powerful bookshelf stereo
So I bought the little brother to this, and while it's good, this is much better. One reason: sound. It just has MORE of it. The 40 watts per channel is enough to be painfully loud, but the speakers included are the key to this. Bass port in the back. It just FEELS like a heavier built unit. The main unit itself has a metal vs. plastic top. It has a better display (VFD versus LCD) otherwise functionally it is identical: great FM tuner, CD player with MP3 CD support, and Bluetooth. They did include a front panel headphone jack, and moved the USB port to the rear- but if your looking for anything analog input, it isn't there. Other than FM radio, sources are 100 percent digital. For sub $200, this thing is well made, after all, it's a PANASONIC, and puts out plenty of loud, full range sound for something that fit on a small shelf. Just make sure what you want to play either fits on a disc, a USB drive or comes wireless via Bluetooth or FM radio. The display shows source playing but no ID3 tags or artist/song info. It's basic but functional. The main takeaway this thing has is quality sound: and LOTS of it. Maybe not living room full, but it will for sure fill and office, bedroom, workshop, garage, playroom with serious sound.
