The end on my old chain somehow came off so I recently bought a different brand to replace my old door chain, but it was ridiculously short. I bought this set and the length is perfect! It's not super heavy-duty but it is definitely not cheap either. It has a medium-strength feeling to me, but it serves it's purpose. This is a great price for a set of two. I recommend.

Hooked both of them up in less than a 1/2 hour. I did use longer screws though. Look good and seem well made. The lock feature is a learning curve but pretty straightforward & easy to figure out.

Update: Recently, I figured out someone was robbing me. It took me a long time to figure out how she had done it., After all, she hadn't stolen my keys - i only have one set. By golly, she had stolen ALL of the keys from this particular landlord. And every time he rotated the locks, she just dipped into her library and broke into the new tenants place. She left the locks UNLOCKED to make it look like it was your flaky memory and stole small hard to miss items. Why not? Entire apartment complexes were open to her.But this was the hardware that stopped her. Because she couldn't get her fingers inside to open it. And because she has no other skill with opening locks.Oh. By the way. She is a real genius this one. She got high on her favorite recreational substance and she told me what she was up to.Every door should have one of these.She still hasn't figured out how I figured it all out. Because I blast everything I figure out on Amazon where I hope it will do someone some good. I don't repeat stuff like this in my victim's face.End update.With my flaky memory, I frequently forget to lock my doors. This is a great visual reminder that one of my locks isn't closed. It reminds me to lock all of the locks . I certainly don't expect this one piece of hardware to hold my doors shut. but it does make me feel better if I find out forgotten to lock the deadbolt.Install the hardware so it cannot be opened from the outside.

So this item looks good, was easy to install and has a proper chain length.The only issue I have with it is that the button to allow the chain to detach has to be pressed down in a specific way or you can't undo the latch and open the door from inside.It's like the spring under the button is slightly off so it's still a great item(especially for the price!) but the release button should have some work done to it.

We have small children and a sliding glass door leading to the pool. We have one of the plastic flip-up sliding door locks that worked for a while but the 3.5 year old has figured out how to slide over a chair and unlock it to open the door. We needed something more difficult to unlock that would still fit on the narrow trim of the door and after a lot of research, decided to try this out. It was easy to install, is easy to lock and most importantly TRICKY to unlock. I do not see our little guys figuring this one out for a long time.

Works great, easy to install. Use it for our back door and it is fantastic

Does the trick and looks decent but the mechanism is very fiddly. You have to press a button to get the chain to disengage and it never works on the first attempt.
