... the saw chewed right through it in seconds!
I LOVE for my yard to be clean and for my job to be effortless when I decide to go out there and treat it to a cleaning. I've since made the switch from gas powered and electric powered to battery powered within the year. I did want to purchase this attachment for smaller jobs. I've got to say that I was pleasantly surprised.I purchased the Greenworks battery powered string trimmer after trying my brothers, then the edger attachment, then this attachment! I tried it for the first time a few days ago... it was fairly simple to use. Months ago, I unboxed it (the packaging was great, as always, with Greenworks products), made sure all items were included (plastic guard, screwdriver with dual hex head receptacles and oil for the saw, manual, etc), and let it sit. But while doing yardwork this past Friday, I noticed there was a branch that needed to be trimmed. It was a bit wider than a slice of bologna and I already had my goggles/hat on, so I just poured the oil in the container, hooked up the attachment, battery in, powered it up... the saw chewed right through it in seconds! I was pleasantly surprised and super excited. Plug-and-play... that's it, for the most part. I did glance through the manual to make sure I was on the right track because I've used gas-powered chain saws before. They're quite annoying as the chain always requires adjusting. This one may eventually requiring adjustment, but for my type of use, it was simple. There's tons of life left for the battery, so I didn't have to worry about it running out, and this was after my using it to trim and edge (prior). No issues after this first use... I did use it to trim another (narrower) branch, and the smaller branches within the trimmed branches. Ease of use, lack of problems, fairly lightweight, simple attachment, reach, and the 'Wow!' factor... 5 out of 5 stars.I hope this helps you make your decision. Take care and have a wonderful day! Great Option for the Price
I already had a Greenworks attachment capable trimmer and I wanted a motorized cultivator. For just about $100 I was able to get the cultivator and extend the capability of my existing trimmer, and it works well. It does the job great for the price I paid. The downside is that the handling is set up for a trimmer and not a cultivator, so it's not the easiest to maneuver. But, I figured out a way to work with it. It requires more muscle than is ideal - I'm a fairly strong dude, so it's not that big of an issue - but overall it makes the job of tilling soil quicker and easier.

Very good weed eater
I really like this weed eater. It's really strong cuz through thick tall grass with no problem. It also has the ability to add attachments to it so that's a plus

8-Inch Edger Attachment with a 9-Inch Blade
Although this is advertised as an 8-Inch Edger Attachment, the blade that came with this edger is 9-inches long by 2-inches wide with a 1-inch hole and a thickness of 0.9 inches. The blades that Greenworks sells as replacements (when the blade on this edger wears out) are only 8 inches long. I have two of the replacement blades from Greenworks I ordered from Amazon. Although the 8" blades with a 1-inch hole from Greenworks do function, they are far from optimal and are less effective than the blade that comes with the edger. This is bad. I ordered the correct size blades from another company on Amazon to resolve the problem. I am now throwing away the blades from Greenworks. It appears that Greenworks did not measure the length of the blade prior to setting up the advertising and selling the 8-Inch Edger Attachment with a 9-Inch Blade. Unlike most, I ordered spare blades prior to the blade that comes with the edger was too short to prove the point. I have been using Greenworks products for over five years. This is not the quality I have come to expect from Greenworks.

Very inconvenient
I LOVE all of my other Greenworks products. I have the lawnmower, blower, string trimmer and hedge trimmer. They work fantastic and allow me to care for my yard without the inconvenience or weight of gas-powered products. However, I was very disappointed in this product. It was so inconvenient to take time to attach this to my string trimmer between trimming and edging. In fact, I never even used the product. I got halfway through attaching it and realized that doing this over and over was going to eventually strip the screws on my string trimmer. This, plus the fact that it was literally faster to just use the string trimmer as an edger than to take time to attach the edger, made me send it back before using it. If Greenworks has a separate edger that is not a trimmer attachment, I will be ordering that instead. If they don’t, they should.

Sharp and precise edger
This thing is powerful and accurate. It leaves a very nice edge on my lawn - much better than my old black and decker. I like that it is just an attachment to my weed trimmer. It can get heavy when added to the weight of the trimmer.
