A review from an experienced draughtsman
I hope this review will refute all the negative reviews out there for this pencil. Technically speaking, this is a lead holder, and not a pencil. I've been mechanically drafting and drawing for over 40 years, and I have an immense collection of lead holders, mechanical pencils, and other drafting devices. While I sometimes believe I've exhausted all the pencil and holder options on the planet, occasionally i'll come across one that is unique. i purchased this one recently and was intrigued by the color (blue) and the magnetic feature for pushing out the graphite. The pencil works great! It is easy to use, very intuitive, and seems durable with a nice weight and feel when drawing. The color is nice and helps keep focus on drawing, more so that a black, silver, or white color. The magnetic feature, while at first novel, actually works great and the ring does not get in the way.One review claimed the pencil was 'useless' because it was difficult to sharpen, etc. It is actually easy to sharpen; simply push the graphite out, point it, then set it back to a shorter position for drawing. This is 'Penciling 1.0' for anyone who has used one of these before. Also, the sharpener is called a 'lead pointer' and not a pencil sharpener. My only slight knock on this is that the finish can be a bit slippery in contrast to a lead holder with a knurled end, such as a Rotring Pro 2.0, etc. I believe I will buy a matte black one which I'm sure will have bit more 'tooth' for the hold. An absolutely great buy and I highly recommend.

This pencil is much better than I expected.
A lot of the reviews claim that this pencil's magnetic adjuster gets in the way of holding the pencil, but honestly, as soon as you tighten the head, you can then move the ring all the way up near the top, where it'll stay out of your grip. The pencil lead also doesn't snap at all, and even if you tighten it a lot, the lead still doesn't break or anything. The design is beautifully sleek and looks absolutely amazing in my hand, with a very smooth finish and a lovely, shimmering color. Such an elegant and wonderful pencil! It's very easy to adjust the length of the protruding lead, and the general thickness makes it something close to impossible to break. However, despite the lead looking horrifyingly dull, the sharpener works quite well, despite its absolutely minute size. Online, the anti-roll ring only looked like a measly metal washer, but it already saved me at least twice of cracking open the pencil. The general quality is great, and it's very robust and durable. This product works like magic and I absolutely recommend it to everyone out there looking for a great mechanical pencil. Absolutely worth its price, as it also contains a twelve-piece refill and a small velvet bag, along with the sharpener, and anti-roll washer thing. I highly recommend it, and in fact, I think I'll get a second.

A Long Way to go For a Mechanical Pencil
I purchased two of these pencils, one in black and the other in gold (which looks more like rose gold), and I am overall impressed with these pencils. I don't use pencils often, mostly pens or fine markers for making notes, but I've started learning a new language and wanted pencils to use in my workbooks in case of mistakes. These don't come with erasers, but that's not really an issue. The pencils arrived in a nice case that is filled with a foamy material to hold everything in place. They come with a pencil, a pencil sharpener, a SIM card remover which doubles as a tool to remove the pencils lead, a pack of 12 replacement leads, and a small tool that looks like a washer, but I have no clue what it's for. There is a sheet of paper inside that explains how to work the lead and it mentions other options accessories so maybe this washer thing goes to one of those accessories.Using this pencil is interesting. Instead of clicking or twisting, you loosen the top of the pencil, which releases the hold on the piece that holds the lead, and by sliding a magnetic ring around the pencil you control a mech inside that moves the lead up and down. It's an interesting concept and works easily enough. If you break your lead, just unscrew, and slide up another portion, sharpen if needed, and get back to work. You can unscrew the bottom of the pencil and take out a small metal piece that you can stick one piece of lead in. Using the SIM card tool, push the lead out and replace it from the refill pack.Overall, it's a really sturdy product and definitely fits the aesthetic that I wanted and it came with enough lead that I don't think I'll run out anytime soon. Because of how the pencils are made I doubt they'll break easily which is great (less waste). My only complaint so far is that the lead seems to break easily which is odd because it is much thicker than a regular mechanical pencil's lead and has only broken inside the pencil. When I'm writing if I bump the pencil or something I can feel the break of the lead inside the pencil, it's hard to explain, but I can tell it's shattered inside. It's not too much of an issue as you can remove the broken piece and just slide up the next portion. They have a good weight to them, they're not any less comfortable than a regular pencil, and maybe even easier to hold because they're smooth and cylindrical. The concept is very unique and definitely out of the box for a pencil but I'm happy with them. My only reason for giving it a four-star is that the process for bringing up new lead or replacing the lead is more involved than a regular pencil that holds numerous pieces of lead and you just click to bring up more.

Gorgeous Device!
Pretty much love everything about it. It is meant to replace a #2 pencil so is good for picture drawing. It's not perfect when it comes to shading as it can't do the broad sweeps of a wood pencil. It do everything else and has a nice feel to it. I can carry it around without having to worry that the tip will break as it is very easy to retract before throwing it in my pocket. The included sharpener is not so portable but cuts a sharp point in the lead only, so there's no need to worry about wood splintering with traditional pencils. Future versions could benefit from extending the length a quarter inch and adding an eraser under the cap (or a sharpener). The price was also very good. One thing I have noticed is that there is another company (Magno) which is selling the same exact pencil. They seem to be selling out of the UK only at roughly twice the price. They claim to be the originators and and have a patent pending. Just curious as to what the truth is. I will continue to make my purchases from WSD as the quality is great at a better price.
