These GTO trunks are heavy with the rear spoiler..
They work great. If installed correctly they work great. Nice being able to lift the trunk with ease. These GTO trunks are heavy with the rear spoiler .. I read the reviews prior thought for the price I'd try them out. I am a professional technician. Install was less then 10 minutes for both. In my opinion these are a bargain for the quality.

Put these on my 04 GTO. Work great and no more slamming trunk!

GTO with factory spoiler
Replaced shocks due to No having enough power to open truck with the factory spoiler. These do not work either.

Complete Failure
I installed these lift supports and they seemed to work well at first. Unfortunately, the next day when i opened the trunk, the product provided absolutely no support whatsoever to the trunk. Do NOT buy these!

Parts were easy to install, and delivery was fast

Weak plastic connectors, broke within minutes after installation
The plastic connectors on these units are very weak. They are not designed to support a heavy trunk like the GTO has. The thread on one of them was stripped within minutes after installation. The screw that holds the connector to the cylinder is way too small for the application. Had to return them and get another brand.
