Love this machine, No issues, Would happily buy it again
I'm surprised at all the bad reviews. I play my MMORPG for as many hours as I want, with it sitting directly in my lap, and I just haven't had any problems at all. I love this thing, and I especially love the keyboard (I never use my K70 LUX any more). If anything happened to it, I'd just buy another one. Maybe without the touchscreen, I really don't find much use for it, but that's just a personal preference because it works just fine. It's a gorgeous cleanly designed product. The placement of the kb and touchpad couldn't be better in my opinion, it's very comfortable to use for extended sessions. I can hear the fans sometimes, of course I can, it needs to cool, but it's never been more than reasonable. It gets hot, of course it does, but I've never had to move it off of my lap due to heat. I've never had it shut down on me. I don't even plug in for internet like I thought I would, I just use wifi and only get lag when the servers are hosed, and then I just jump to a different game without issue. I called Razer support once with a question related to the warranty coverage and had a great experience, I felt like they actually cared so that was nice.

Razer Blade Pro 17 4K REVISED after 18mos DO NOT BUY!!!
UPDATTE: This is whatt my keyboard is doing now you will nottice etra letters and ommissions of lettters. TThis is because I have tturned off tthe autocoect. The keyboard now works rathe badly omittting "Rs" much of thte ttime and puttinttg in lottts of extttra "Ts" ottther letters just cease working now and then."Suppor" att Razer suggests thatt I just send off my whole life tto them so they can determine if tthey want to fix it or nott. Really super support for a $4,000 laptop. I've probably sold about 17 of these for hem if thte count of people who have found my review useful is correct, and I apologie to all of tthem. Appaarenttly the heat generated by the laptop ruins some of the keys and they might correct this if you want to lose the thing ffor however long they feel like taking but they'll probably want money for their great "service".----Original Review----This is a review for the 17 inch Pro with the 4K screen. This is important as it is clear from the reading of the reviews that some people are reporting issues with the half of of the 14 inch Razer Blades that have the non-LG screens. I would advise you, DO NOT take this into account if you are interested in the 17" 4K version of this gaming laptop.I am a business user and occasional gamer. I wanted a single system as a desktop replacement. I am fully satisfied with this system. I am also an old tech guy. I have been involved in home computing and IT infrastructure since 1979, just prior to the release of the original IBM PC. I am VERY particular. I have built white box computers, and used to only build my own system from the motherboard up.This laptop survived twelve 15 minute cycles of the PassMark's Burnin doing a 100% stress load on the processor. I had to up the threshold to 99C which is near the operational maximum of the i7-7820HK processor. The fan is very reasonable and cooled the processor to a moderate 86C from a peak of 96C at the start of the test. I then ran eight hours of standard Burnin tests at 80% load on on sub-systems without failure. The system performed very well and rated on a PassMark Benchmark at 98th percentile for all tested desktop systems even though it is a laptop. The Nvidia GTX 1080 is insane for this form-factor. I cannot believe the speed. I am getting 60fps maxed on Fallout 4 on maximum settings. There may be a bit of lag occasionally, but it is imperceptible during play.Qualitatively the laptop is excellent. The keyboard is the very best I have felt since I moved to laptops and I have used a MacBook Pro running Windows 10 (no Apple O/S at all, Apple makes an excellent Windows machine). I am used to the Retina display, and this one is better. Some might note some bleed-through, but turn down the backlight, the laptop is clearly designed to run at about 40% screen power in normal room light. At night I move it to between 10-20%. The audio subsystem is good. I find the built-in speakers just a little hollow, but I use Bowers & Wilkins P7 Wired Over Ear Headphones, Black and they are spectacular. The sound is far better than the Mac Book. The trackpad is excellent, and I despise trackpads. Additionally the O/S is installed very cleanly. The only third-part software that procs up at boot is the Razer Synapse and Killer Control Center (for the network card which I have not formed an opinion on yet). The Razer Synapse gives total control over the lighting system and has a single checkbox to turn off the green glowing logo which is the only thing that makes this system anything but professional looking. As to the form-factor, I have never felt a laptop so solid. The black anodized case is very pleasant to feel, it is about 7.92lbs and it's size is reminiscent of the MacBook Pro 17in, however it is a bit wider. My only irritation is that the keys, while back-lit do no display the secondary functions except as flat pain on the keycap, the shifted-characters don't glow. While I am a touch-typist, I still look when I type some occasionally used keys, and since I do not code that includes many symbols. I'm getting used to it, and it is a very minor nit.I cannot speak to the issues that others are experiencing with the 14in Razers Blades. It may also be that support is poor, I don't know. I was very concerned so I tested the hell out of the system right out of the box. I installed my software but didn't move data until it passed the Burnin tests in case I had to send it back. I would add that data transfer was twice as fast or better going on to this system than it was coming off my Mac. Both have solid state drives, but this one is 1T mirrored, and the USB connectors are fast.In all, this is the best laptop I have yet experienced. Please consider it even with the poor reviews for the 14in. I am glad I did.UPDATE; I’m now 3 months from purchase, still no issues. It does run hot, but that's to be expected, take precautions and don’t touch the hot spots with bare skin for a long while. Still happy with the purchase. Your results may vary.

First Impression: No PC Laptop Like It
There really are no PC laptops that can compare to the quality look and feel of the Razer Blade lineup. I purchased the 17in Pro GTX 1060 variant and am very impressed with the laptop out of the box.The 120hz screen is butter smooth and has a great matte look. The backlit keyboard gets very bright and the keys have a nice feel. And the trackpad is good and accurate. I personally don’t mind the trackpad placement, but I am right-handed. The overall build quality of the machine is really only rivaled by Macs, with the sleek black aluminum chasis. I was concerned it might be too big, but I find the size to be perfect, and it is even portable in my opinion. The performance also seems to be solid out of the box, staying pretty cool and quiet during some games. The storage configuration of a 256GB SSD and a 2 TB HDD is a smart inclusion, as I can put large programs like games on the mechanical hard drive and programs I use often on the SSD. This amount of storage even compare favorably with many desktops.I am not a Razer diehard who has to own everything Razer, although I do have a few Razer peripherals, and I did a significant amount of research before making this purchase. The horror stories of bad customer experiences nearly turned me away, but it seems those are the minority of customer experiences, and I couldn’t find anything else that was subtle and powerful like this laptop. The Dell XPS 15 was a close runner up, but the GTX 1050 in that laptop just isn’t strong enough, as well as the Gigabyte Aero 15, which has the performance and the subtlety(minus an orange stripe on the back) but the quality just isn’t the same.Razer definitely has a reputation of questionable quality control, but I have never had a bad experience. I will update this review if anything should change with the laptop, although my first impression is very positive.

Great laptop for photographers too!
I'm a photographer, and end up needing much of what a gamer would need, so I started shopping around for a gaming laptop. I ended up purchasing the Razer Blade Pro 17" and am thrilled beyond measure with the laptop. It can handle my needs well, I tend to run many programs at once, including the Adobe Suite which can slow down many machines, but not the Blade Pro. The 17.3" screen gives me plenty of screen space for my editing. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Over priced, flawed desinged.
Charger can't supply enough power to the computer witch causes stuttering and freexzing as teh cpu and gpu are throttled.cust support even reccoments running it on balanced mode and turning of the out over clocking. You pay for the specs, but do to the designe (needing to be luggage checkable) the laptop can't actully utalize the hardware.buy a tower. or a cheeper laptop.

Great Razer Laptop
Great laptop for the price. A bit heavy, but that's how gaming laptops are supposed to be. Astonishing performance with cool mechanic keyboard and touchpad is fine too.

It Has So Much Potential, But the Layout is not Ideal
Pros and Cons:Pros:-Powerful Gaming Laptop-Great Warranty System-Fast Refresh Rate (120Hz)-Good Quality ScreenCons:-Bad Quality Control-Atrocious Placement of Touchpad (They fixed it in the 2019 version)The Review:I spent several hours on finding a good gaming laptop and found that this one was on sale so I took that opportunity and bought it. The laptop was unfortunately defective and I went through the warranty process to have a new one. That process was relatively smooth. I took a video of the problem (The top cover of the laptop could be pressed like a button) and they sent me a new one after sending mine back. When I got the laptop again, I was still not satisfied. The touchpad was in such an awkward spot (especially since I'm a lefty) and I wasn't a big fan of the keyboard layout. I've since returned it and bought a different laptop (Aero 15x).
