The Mountain Top Supply bleed kit ensures a professional and efficient experience when you go to fill your hydraulic steering system. The job can easily be done with one person thanks to the brass quick connect fittings. This allows you to screw in the quick connect fitting to the helm and the bottle and then easily plug them in together with the tube. The brass fittings do not cross thread which eliminates leaking expensive Seastar hydraulic steering fluid and making a mess of your boat. Works with most all outboard, inboard/outboard, and inboard hydraulic steering kits including Seastar and Baystar. The high quality brass and stainless steel fittings allow the Mountain Top Supply bleed kit to be used in all environments including saltwater. HOW TO USE 1) Unscrew the reservoir cap above the helm and attach the included threaded brass fitting. 2) Attach the included brass cap for the bottle of hydraulic steering fluid and use the quick connect attachments to connect the tube to the helm and the hydraulic steering fluid. 3) Attach the bridge tube to the bleed fittings on the steering cylinder and loosen the bleed nipples. 4) While holding the bottle of hydarulic fluid above the helm, start to turn the steering wheel to the left and right until you see no more bubbles in the bridge tube. When the bubbles are the gone, the bleed is complete and your hydraulic steering system is full of sea star steering fluid. For best results do not attempt to clean out the oil residue left behind in the tubing. ADD TO CART NOW

Works perfect, wish I had this long ago!!!!!!! Stop reading and just buy!!
Works perfect. I am a boat mechanic service shop owner and have bleed many Sea Star hydraulic steering systems. I found this kit while looking for quick connects for the breeders. Let me tell you, this is a no mess system. This was the first time I've ever bleed a system without spilling a drop! You will be surprised about how much less of that expensive $33 per quart oil you will use!!! It also made the tightest steering system I've ever felt, since you just keep cycling the fluid until all of the air is out. Wish I had this years ago. The trick is patience, poke your hole in the right spot on the bottle and give it little squeezes as you are spinning the wheel it helps pull up the air bubbles out of helm. Overall it takes about the same time as bleeding with two people but now you can do a way better job with no mess all by yourself. Highly recommend!!! Need more hacks like this. Wish there were an extra quick connect to bleed drain the hose when finished while letting it gang but with a small screw driver you can use the helm threaded male fitting to open one side and a screw driver in the other to open the release valve!

Easy to use.
Received on time and used it that day. The product is on the expensive side but the brass fittings are good quality. After hooking the hoses to my steering system, which is very straightforward (just watch the video), I started purging the air from my system. Lots of air bubbles, more than what seemed to be purging. So many that I thought maybe one of the bleeder hoses was leaking so I tightened the hoses. Was still seeing bubbles but very few. I purged a while longer and finally just stopped. Today it has settled down and is steering well. So the bottom line is it seems to be a quality product and works as advertised. Color me well satisfied.

Much better
I’ve used the cheap bleed kits but never could seem to get all the air out. I still had to bleed it multiple times but that might be due to using the cheap ones before. I can finally get my steering solid with this kit and it’s easy to use and not messy like the cheap ones.

Bubble bleeding !!
No leaks with this product, however you may still have some air trapped in the helm unit. Note: do not close either bleeder while using in an effort to remove helm air pockets. If you do, the hose will give way. We’ll made product, solves leak at bottle end and installs easily.

Best kit period
Do not spend one dime of your money on any other kit this is the only option if you use the inferior cats they will bleed it out you will never get your steering complete you will waste more money on hydraulic fluid than the difference in the kit price I can tell you for my own experience it is worth the money
