Works as Intended, Useful for Gamma brain wave entrainment
I wanted to get a light that flickered at 40 Hz after reading an article about brain wave entrainment. I've been using it for nearly 2 months. The bulb works as promised and expected. It flickers more noticeably than a dying fluorescent tube in a hospital morgue, but that is what it is intended to do. I don't mind the flickering, although people who are walking by when I use it remark that they find it really irritating. I don't.During the first month, I noticed that I was having very intense dreams every night, which indicated to me that my brain was reacting to it. My primary interest was to improve focus, concentration, and memory. I feel like it has helped, although it wasn't a leap to omniscience and peering through God's eye on the world. This is a good product for people who want to experiment with brain wave entrainment. I use it while listening to Gamma brain wave entrainment audio tracks. My other senses are not involved in my journey of greater mental clarity.

40 Hz light bulb not sure if it is really useful
It is flickering stronger than I expected. I hope this is useful. But I do not know if it is really useful. The Disclaimer says: nothing is guaranteed or implied. Why not support some follow up studies to get evidence of effectiveness? It is an open loop

Failed after five months
My wife is having memory issues. I installed this bulb in early may and while the 40Hz flashing is noticeable you do get used to it. I didn't tell my wife what the bulb was for, just that I wanted to try it. After four evenings she said that she definitely felt that her memory issues had become less of an issue "over the last few days". Here we are five moths later and the bulb has essentially failed. It still flashes but not at 40Hz... more like 10Hz and it hurts your head to be near it. So this is five moths of use, about six days a week for about four hours a night.Would recommend the 40Hz approach, not so much of a recommendation for only lasting five months.

Doesn't last very long
The light bulb only worked for about 30 days ...

Inexpensive (but high quality) for the 40 hz light therapy
40 Hz light therapy is a relatively new modality for (arguably) preventing or alleviating a variety of neurologic and cognitive disorders. There are some rather expensive gadgets out there exploiting this technology. This is a cost-effective method for experimenting with 40 Hz gamma entrainment, or perhaps treating someone that may need this for therapy(?) It's just an LED light bulb with some clever electronics built in. Easy to set up (desk lamp?), easy to use. Inexpensive. From my own reading on the subject, a 40 Hz RED light might be even more useful(?) (Attn: Gamma Light Therapy LLC)

Worked for about three hours and became intermittent on/off
It worked great for a few hours, then the light started to flicker as with a bad contact. It became useless
