Good for brewing beer.
Using these in my electric brewing system. They're fantastic. One provides enough heat to ramp at reasonable rates for step mashing of a 6 gallon batch (9 gallons strike water). Two are used in the boil, one at 100%, the second turned down to 25%.

Big improvement over my shorter element.
I bought this element to replace a shorter non- folded unit in my hobby still. It immediately solved the scorching issues by exposing more surface area to the wash and spreading the heat more evenly.

GOOD PRODUCT SHIPS WITH CHEAP GASKET
I used this product to replace a new heating element in a new 20 gal water heater installed on my houseboat. Overall, I am impressed by how well the unit heats, recovery times are 15-20 min in my small water heater. The construction is much more durable for my application and can withstand the frequent extreme temperature changes of cold water in flow on a hot element. However, I was VERY disappointed when I discovered after 2 weeks that the silicone gasket it ships with had failed and was spewing water into the bottom of my boat. Overall, 120 gallons of water had poured out. I went to HD and purchased the cheapest heating element they offered just to use the synthetic rubber gasket and it solved the problem. I would recommend purchasing a proper gasket with your element if you choose to buy this device to save yourself a headache (and backache) like mine.
