Great for the price!
The media could not be loaded. Was simple to install. Comes with a “y” connector. One end goes in channel 2 where your esc would plug in the receiver. The other two ends go to the esc and sound unit. The nice thing is this unit has two speakers for better sound but you need to find room to mount them. You can always snip one off. 10 different sounds and the sounds come on at different rpms so you can find one for your drive style. I have a monster truck and I like the short course style sound this has. There are a couple that sounds like Diesel engines. One sort of like a muscle car, sort of. And on like a Japanese’s V6 drift car. You might have to use you imagination. Once the unit and speakers are mounted they sound much better vs bench testing it. The other brands are like 2-3x more expensive. I can’t justify spending that much for a sound box. This one is cool for me. I use Velcro to mount the unit and speakers so I can move it to other vehicles. It’s cheap enough you can get a couple though. I’ve only used it a couple of days. Can’t speak of the durability or longevity. In the video the battery is not charged all the way so if the unit doesn’t get enough power it will cut out and, “start up” again. Sounds like the engine stalled out, hahha! For the price I think it’s cool and adds another dimension to my RC truck.

Sounds like an 8-bit video game on acceleration
Started out without ESC connected. Sounds great on idle and start up but sounds absolutely terrible when accelerating. Worse so, when I connected my esc, it shorted something out and now my RC does not drive.Definitely not worth the money or risk.

Really Neat "Budget" Kit
The media could not be loaded. I was Impressed with this Budget Sound Kit for RC Modeling Because this kit has everything that is required to install into just about any RC model.Likes:Easy to Install with all provided hardwareSound is Good for Variable Model's with Different Likeness of Engine'sVolume Control is easy to access and level of soundSound Button is simple to use for Different Variable'sComes with Quality 3M mounting tape, Ample enough for several mounting optionsMolded in Bevels and Mounting tabs on the Speaker Boxes for different applicationsPlug and Play with no worries of update adapters etc...Dislikes:(these are the reason's for the 4 star rating)Not Water Resistant or Splash Proof design. No Revving Sound in Reverse.Brake Squealing sound is not appealing for Reverse Motion.Sound is a little sketchy when full throttle is applied from a complete stop then catches up when model is traveling.Unit Speakers are Large and take allot of room with the Control Module. In short this is a good Budget Friendly sound unit Recommending for use in dry and non dusty area's for RC Model's...But not if you are planning on using this for a Moist/Wet and Dirt/Mud RC Model...Thank's For Watching Larry's RC Room = Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing

Good sound system!
No instructions but only has a volume knob and a push button to change different engine sounds easy to use. Speakers are a little big for certain situations. Plenty loud. Gas and diesel sounds. For the price it's a decent sound system for RC cars and trucks!!

Cool for the money but have issue already
The media could not be loaded. So just to be clear, I think for the price it's nice. It worked just fine but after a couple of runs, one speaker stopped working. I did notice a lot of guys saying that the sound was flipped giving you the revs on the reverse. I flipped the engines rotation by simply swapping the power and ground to the motor. I know that most motors are better balanced for forward motion but for the slow low rev runs on my crawler course, it's been completely fine. I would consider purchasing another but I'm skeptical since mine is already down to one speaker and I know it did not get wet. If your on a budget, this is the one. I might have just received one with a dud speaker? I was planning on opening it up to check if the soldering came loose in the box. It comes with some nice sound choices and as you can hear on my clip, it's pretty loud lol.

Poor execution in so many ways......
It's easier to list the issues since I really can't comment on the way it may have been intended to work.-Product had no instructions and while I'm confident I connected it properly some may attempt this and cause damage. Then again, with no instructions it's impossible to know what do's and don'ts to observe to prevent damage.-When connected, device makes start-up and idle sounds and then starts randomly emulating squealing tires. This happens in every sound mode and in no way follows throttle and brake commands from the transmitter-DEVICE IS RIDICULOUSLY LOUD!!! When first plugged in the audio level was insane. I thought it may have been turned up by mistake when packaged only to find it was turned all the way down. This made the volume adjustment a completely useless feature.Lastly, this set-up will use a lot of room. The controller is about 7/8" thick, 1 1/4" wide, and 2 1/4" long while each speaker (there are 2) are roughly the same size except about 3 1/4" long. Most scalers will not have the room to chassis mount these and will have to find room somewhere on the body which means more weight up high.

This is a high quality kit for the price
I have been building custom RC trucks for customers for years. Most of them request engine sounds in the vehicles. I have used every kind of RC sound system out there, including the high end ones that require downloading sound files. In my last 5 custom builds (a 1:10 RC 10L pan car, two 1:6 custom New Bright H2's, a 1:8 Defender and a 1:8 CJ5), I have used the GoolRC sound kit (both from Amazon or from EBay). I would say this is the best-for-the-money sound kit for RC cars trucks, sized 1:10 or larger. Sounds are super clear and very loud. Out of all the sounds, I'd say maybe half of them are what most people would use.Setup is easy, no external battery required, and the speakers are loud and clear with no real static or popping.
