Great wireless surround option
Got this to replace a defective OSD band unit. This paired without issue whatsoever. No pops or crackles, but according to other reviewers you can purchase some ferret cores to resolve the issue if you encounter it. Works perfectly and now I have surround in an awkwardly shaped living room.

Actually works!
There's not many wireless kits for passive speakers and most aren't that great. I've spent a good bit of time researching them because I really needed one of my rear channel speakers to be wireless. It just wasn't very practical to be wired with it's position. This wireless kit worked perfectly and easily. It was already paired out of the box. The gain control on the back was a nice touch as it gives you some flexibility and convenience.Criticisms/problems (and maybe just MY problems): there's no ferrite choke on the power adapter for the amp. in my case, theres ground loop noise (this will vary for people and the electrical wiring they have). So I'm going to see if a ferrite choke will help. Failing that, maybe an active noise filter but there's another $100-200. This brings me to cost. This is not a cheap device. There's also not many options out there either if you need an amp all in one unit. Hopefully in the future it comes down a bit because I may want a second. This brings me to my criticism/wish: it supports two channels, but in ONE receiver. This means you need to have both channels somewhat nearby. This may often be the case, but not for me. I have a walkway between. So I can't run a cable both directions.I'm sure two receivers are going to mean even more cost...but maybe the option would be nice. As is, I'd now need to buy a full second set. Getting more expensive.... but, it works! It works well too. The amp is strong enough for the rear channels. I'm not sure if I'd use it on front L/R channels. The nice thing about the gain knob on the back is I can lower it until the noise is quieter and then use my AV receiver to raise the level of that channel. That helps a bit and from a distance it's hard to hear the noise. Again, I hope to eliminate the noise with a filter of some kind, but that may end up costing even more money depending on what I have to do to combat the noise...and that's just beginning to not be worth it for a single rear channel.

Works like a charm...
This combination of Wired transmitter and Wireless receiver unit (both units needs to be powered) works like a charm. The transmitter and the receiver does not even have to be in the direct line of sight for this to work. In my case, the receiver is hidden away between the recliners in an open empty space with no obstructions between the transmitter and the receiver and works like a charm. The best part is that the receiver comes with an in-built amplifier and a subwoofer port, which is great. I have my 2 Yamaha Surround Speakers hooked up to the powered receiver via wired connection and the Audio is crisp with zero lag. You can play with the volume/amplifier knob at the back of the receiver until the volume in your surround speakers is at the same decibels (db) as that of your wired Center, Front Left and Front Right speakers that are connected to your audio receiver head unit.I am sure I can rig a few more surround speakers to this wireless receiver unit and it should not have any performance issues. There is a setting on my Yamaha receiver head unit to accommodate additional speakers, I will just have to make sure I select that option if I hook up more speakers to this wireless receiver unit.I would highly recommend this product to anyone trying to avoid running wired connection from the audio receiver head unit to the surround speaker sets.

Product worked great.... for a few weeks.
So, I thought this product was finally what I was looking for to get my rear surrounds working wirelessly with my home theater. My house is solid concrete, there is no way for me to run any wires without significant demo and rebuild work getting done. Saw this product and finally decided to plunge on a true 5.1.2 setup. My setup is the ideal setup for this product, it is only a 12-15 foot range and has DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT FROM RECEIVER TO TRANSMITTER. No walls in the way, no furniture, nothing.Everything worked great for the first 4-6 weeks, then the pops started. And the crackles. And the bangs. As soon a the return window for this closed, the product seemingly continues degrading. I've tried everything, both different bands and endless power cycles to try to catch new lower-use RF channels. It just isn't working the way it should.I wish I could recommend this, but as it currently sits - I cannot. In theory, this should be a great device. The built in amplifier in addition to the wireless transmit/receive functionality is a great combination, but just does not seem to be there yet.My next step will be to purchase a separate 2-channel amplifier and try a wireless transmitter/receiver that does not provide built-in amplification to see if the interference may be caused by poor circuitry separation.Would not recommend.
