No lag, display at 1080p @ 60 Hz, and excellent sound
Learned about this on a YouTube video to solve a particular challenge I have. Because of the COVID thing, my kids needed a computer to do classes via zoom so I made them a purpose built computer (4.5 x 8x 10 inches). The computer is stationed in a book self between them so they can use it (the computer uses multiseat software). Before I put the computer in the book shelf, I was testing it out under my TV. I thought to myself: wouldn't this be awesome if it computer played video games too? So I added NES, Super NES, and NES 64 emulations with games on it...it was an awesome idea. When the computer was thoroughly tested, it was moved to the book self....problem was the TV and book self are diagonally 18 ft from each other. I don't think an HDMI cable 18 ft would be reliable and plus I couldn't have a cord like that running across the room like that. This HDMI extender solved this problem beautifully. I am running ethernet cable in the wall from the computer to the TV. The graphics card (salvaged from a Dell XPS 8700) is a GT 720, nothing fancy but it allows me to run 3 screens: two 24 inch monitors for the kids computer needs and a 40 in TV for gaming/streaming. It works flawlessly. No lag, picture quality is 1080 p @ 60 Hz and there is excellent sound. because the TV is 18 ft away, it can be hard to see small details if you are browsing YouTube or in the emulator's setup before playing a game. that issue is solved too. these extenders have a HDMI loop back feature. so on my son's desk, the monitor is hooked up directly to the PC via VGA and hooked up to the extender's loop back via HDMI. I have my display extended to all three screens. I can switch between screen views (the main desktop and TV) on my son's desk to easily setup anything on the TV; basically, this extender mirrors anything on the TV to the monitor. I simply thing this extender is awesome. it allowed me to accomplish my goal for the kids' computer needs, gaming, and then some. There is lots of potential with these extenders.

This Extender Is Fantastic!
This extender works exactly as advertised. I'm using it with a DirecTV receiver and Toshiba 50" smart TV for an outdoor TV setup. Took a bit of time to find the correct code for the DirecTV but once I found it everything works great. Buy a good Cat 6e cable, they're cheap enough and well worth the cost. The picture is perfect and there is no latency, distortion, etc. VERY happy with the purchase and the vendor (Bombay Electronics). The IR from the remote to control the DirecTV box was only working from about 3' away from the IR receiver (the remote works fine at normal distances from the TV) so I called Bombay Electronics for help. They sent a new IR receiver and blaster no questions asked after a brief description of what was going on. GREAT customer service. Highly recommended!

Better than others, not the best though.
As title states, this particular unit is rack Mount and better than other units I’ve used prior. Not the best I’ve ever used though. Reason I knock a star is bc every now and again it’ll glitch. Restarts seem to fix the issue for the most part. Now the real reason for knocking a star off is bc for some reason, it always starts out nice and calibrated. But as it runs, my 4th screen tends to go off calibration, and it’s kindve annoying. I’ve tried tinkering w positioning and offsets in the software/gui, but have yet to find a reliable fix.

(8x8 HDMI matrix with video wall controls) Good feature set, clumsy GUI = good but not perfect
I'm a longtime owner/user of Lightware matrices, widely considered the benchmark for live entertainment and events. I wanted to try out this OREI unit since the feature set seems really great considering the price point.First, the good: the built quality feels really good. Also the latency, even in "video wall mode," is super low, maybe nonexistent. And speaking of the video wall mode, it's pretty slick. It's easy to take a 4K source and divide it up into 1080p quads. You can even upscale those 1080p quads to be 4K signals, though I'm not sure why you'd want to do that. But you can.But there is a pretty big flaw: the matrix will output a bright blue signal on any output that doesn't have a valid input signal routed to it. And there doesn't appear to be any way to disable this. For an install situation in an airport, bar, KTV, etc maybe this isn't a big deal. But if you intend to use this in a live production/event environment with a giant LED wall or projection, this means that if your media server crashes or a cable becomes disconnected then instead of going black the wall will display a bright blue field! The web GUI is pretty minimalistic, requiring a PC app (Windows only!) to fully configure the device. Again, compared to the Lightware benchmark, the OREI app is pretty clunky. But as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for," and the OREI unit is about 1/3 the price of the Lightware version so the OREI matrix is quite a value considering the features offered. And while this last thing isn't really a deal breaker, it is *weird* that their website shows an address and a google maps location for Illinois but the photo is clearly a street from a city in France or Belgium. Why? I typed in the address shown for Illinois and google street view just shows a common industrial/warehouse district. So why pretend with the photo of a European city?--------Update: OREI's tech support folks provided me a HEX code to send to the unit that changed the blue field to black. I'm still baffled that "blue" is the default behavior and that there is not option to change it via the web GUI or PC app. But at least this issue is now solved.

These are great
I have used many other brands for my purpose and they all fail within 1 month. I have a Camera System with a DVR and the house is wired with CAT-6. The "run" to the room I need to see that cameras in, is 90' of wire away from the DVR. These are the only adapters that work PERFECTLY converting CAT-6 to HDMI. Great!

Happy with this product. I am using it in Singapore - so need a US to UK adaptor. V Good.
Ease of installation. Just need to do some simple adjustment to match the cable length as spelt out on the device markings. Just follow the simple diagram and the product works just fine. I am using it in Singapore that - which uses the UK plug format. So I just need to convert US to UK power plug. Happy to know that the device works well as explained in the description. Happy with this product.

Not great
I have purchased several of these and other products from the same brand. I sent one back as faulty, the replacement I received had the same issue. So now I have a faulty replacement and a faulty new in the box unit. I spent a few days going back and forth in an email with tech support only to just walk away. Not worth the time spent. Too bad as the price point is good.

Great Product
Good design. It has HDMI loop out on Tx unit and it can adjust signal strength for different cable length.
