Follow the instructions, always.
Bought this for my hydroponic garden. Most of the roots were in a decent condition, but definitely not all of them. Since there is a limited number of spots in my system, I chose the strongest ones, and they are thriving so far. Technically success rate is 100%, but it’s not really accurate. Might update later, when it comes to producing.

Will buy again
I bought these more than a year ago and came on here to see what kind I bought so I could buy more. These plants have been through drought (us forgetting to water them for weeks at a time) and eight inches of freak snow fall in Florida that lasted almost a week, and they are thriving and producing lots of flowers. I know other people have complained about the condition of their plants upon arrival but ours were great.

Love it!
This is my first year as a gardener and I never grew strawberries so I watched some videos and decided to purchase these. Shipping was incredibly fast. By the time it got delivered the outside was very cold and wasn’t able to plant them. Even though I didn’t open the box for 3 days they remained intact. After 3 days I put them in water and decided to plant 5 after few days of soaking to see how they’ll do in my native backyard soil with some compost. And planted the rest in my raised bed with spinach going around the sides. Incredible all of them actually grew in just 4 days and I’m impressed. U can see the difference on the pictures. Buy it!Update:After a year it was growing beautiful and producing a lot of strawberries but sadly I made a mistake of overcrowding them and it ended up getting a disease and dying. I’ll purchase more and try again.

A train wreck: mixed cultivars, short count, and roots that were mostly trimmed away!
I ordered 25 Albion plants and 25 Evie-2 plants, for a total of 50 plants for an experiment. What I received was a single bag of 47 strawberry plants with their roots mostly trimmed away, very little greenage, and no way to determine which cultivar was which. I have put them in my pod hydroponics system, but I am not optimistic. I was trying to do a side-by-side comparison with a dedicated hydro system for each cultivar but that plan is now ruined.

Grows robustly
I’m still waiting for a strawberry to turn red, but the plants are doing great (strong and healthy) and have lots of berries forming. I rated them 4 because I haven’t had a chance to taste them. There were too many bare roots for my tower, so I planted 4 in EarthBoxes. They are also doing extremely well—better than berries from a local nursery.

Loved Them Before
When I planted my first strawberry patch 25 years ago, I chose the original Evie berries by random chance. They provided big, delicious berries. Eventually I quit gardening and when I decided to start again this spring, the Evies were sold out and I went with Quinault. I am not happy with them, the berries are small and not very sweet. Nothing else seemed to compare favorably with the Evies.I came across these Evie2 plants at the worst possible time. We are having the hottest weather and worst drought here in over 100 years. To make things worse, I found them in late July, not exactly prime time to start bare root berries in a northern climate. Still, suffering from FOMO (fear of missing out) I ordered a package of 22 bare roots. The seller gave me a generous 24. My hope was to get enough plants large and healthy enough to survive the winter and give me runners to fill in with. Two weeks later, I have 18 survivors, several are blossoming already! They are growing quickly and I believe I will have more Evies next spring than I had dared hope for. If so, the Quinaults are going to be pulled out replaced.I hope the Evie2's are wonderful as the original Evies. The seller says even better, and at this point, I have no reason to doubt him. I am really looking forward to having Evie berries again.

Below average plants
These strawberry plants were of below average quality. They arrived bare rooted, not packed in some kind of coconut fiber as promised. The package contained 24 small plants and one old, rather overgrown one. The small plants were really small, roots trimmed off as short as 2 inches in some cases. I'd say the package was half the volume of a pack of 25 ordered from another company. Clearly they would need special care to survive. I kept 15 plants, gave 10 smallest to my neighbor, and 9 of theirs died. Mine I kept watered well, kept pinching off the flowers. It took a lot of TLC, but all 15 are alive, many now producing runners. I wanted to try this day neutral variety, and it isn't available everywhere. Perhaps the way the variety produces runners to sell, or perhaps the employee preparing this package, were in part responsible for the low quality of the plants received. But with care I did manage to pull them through, and we'll see if they can produce fall berries. So I'll give an average rating and suggest the company keep its eye on quality control.

Took a long time to arrive but they're great!
These took a surprisingly long time to arrive after ordering and I was about to cancel the order when they showed up. I was a little worried they'd have problems after the long transit, but unwrapped them and they were in great shape! I didn't really see any coco coir, but the roots were moist, dense and plentiful. No mold/mildew at all. Most of the crowns already had a bit of green showing. The plants varied considerably in size, with some being very small (peanut size with small roots) and some being thumb-sized with gobs of roots. There were considerably more plants than the 20 I ordered...I had to add on some additional space in my garden to plant all the extras. Not complaining about that! After being in the ground for 2 days, there is already measurable growth apparent--very healthy. I have high hopes for these little plants!
