Do not expect an easy assembly. Have tools available.
This blade is VERY STOUT. I am pleased with the quality of the product and the packing and shipping and timeliness. The rest SUCKS!One whole bag (#5) had the wrong bolts (size AND type). The fast attach bracket system was not formed correctly, thereby not enabling it to fit together so the attachment holes would not align. In other words, the blade system would not marry up to the cub cadet tractor fast attachment receiver. Even the receiver brackets provided with the blade would not work with the blade. (Machining of male parts was required as well as drilling out holes to align after the machining was required.)To calibrate the control cables, the cable needs to be stabilized with a 6mm open end wrench. No mention of this requirement or the fact any metric wrench was required in the Pg#6 “Required Tools” graphic. As noted by others, the assembly/maintenance/operation manual covers everything at a high level but leaves out crucial details that are not readily apparent. A digital caliper will come in very handy.I have spent two full days on this assembly!UNSAT!But, I can see it will be very long lasting and definitely do the jobs I require around my residence, in all four seasons. Otherwise I would have sent it right back! Good things somethings take extra work but I sure expected much better from MTD/Cub Cadet.I suggest that the reseller and Amazon join up to express customer complaints with the manufacturer.

A bit awkward, but works
Bought a brand new XT2 a few months ago to replace an aging Simplicity. I wasn't sure that the XT2 was going to have the power that my older tractor had despite having less horsepower, and I did not want to modify any mounting brackets etc from the Simplicity to the XT2. So I bought all new, including this utility blade. Overall, putting it together wasn't too terrible. As some reviewers mentioned, missing hardware or misdrilled holes; I only got the misdrilled hole which in of itself wasn't off by much. A quick hit with a 5/16 bit and it was done. These would be awesome with linear actuators to move the blade side to side and up/down (which I had bodged together for the Simplicity), and I might do it again. The cabling gets a little finicky, especially the angle release. You really have to add a bunch of pre-load to the cable to get the release to work right, and when it is released, it's awkward to physically move the blade on the pivot with the handle. Not terrible, just awkward. Same deal with the blade lock - some people stated that they couldn't get theirs to work at all; I think the trick is to pre-load that cable as well, and you actually have to push down on the handle (to release the pressure on the lock) before actually unlocking the blade. With the sloppy, heavy snow we had today, both systems worked reasonably well. There were some times that the blade unlock did not work at that very moment, so I'll say 95% success rate there. The other issue that reviews mentioned was the spring trip being too light. That is adjustable to a point; it's easier to take a chain or cable from the mounting bolt at the plow side and put it from there to the cross bar of the spring as a "trip lock". It'll move heavy snow if your tractor has the power (and chains), but it will trip over if you run into compacted areas. With a chain or cable limiting how far the blade will "trip", you can mitigate the "flat blade syndrome" when dealing with compacted stuff.

DO NOT BUY
The media could not be loaded. The Amazon seller was great. Fast delivery. Then it went horribly wrong. The directions are pathetic and tough to navigate. Issue has been reviewed multiple times with low ratings. I was missing the Pivot Shaft as have others in their reviews. I never received the replacement part. So I had a machine shop make me one. I used the plow for only 20 minutes and the control arm to raise and lower the plow broke, see the video. Cub Cadet never answered the customer service number. The online chat didn’t reply. I sadly will put the burden on the seller and return it to them for a refund. Stanley Black and Decker bought Cub Cadet. I’ve subsequently bought some of their stock and can’t wait for the next shareholders meeting to bring up this poor quality and horrible customer service.

Takes some time
Worth the effort. Love the results.Directions are not so great you need to be creative and take your time. Thought the price was reasonable.

Difficult to put together and already broke
Bought this to replace a no name plow attachment. It was really difficult to put together even with thoroughly reading the instructions. After assembling we used it once and the lever wires already broke. I am not impressed with the level of quality for this attachment and it was definitely not worth the money.

Great item
I was a little skeptical when I first ordered the plow. Installing the plow was pretty simple, took about 2 hours to install. This plow is more than I expected. Works great and pushes a lot of snow. Even the wet stuff

WAITING FOR SNOW
Seems like a quality product.

Works great but not perfect.
This plow is an economical option instead of a snowblower attachment, which are three times as expensive and hard to find. I've plowed my 1000 foot driveway with six inches of snow with no problems, and the quick detach makes it nice for summer and winter. It's not perfect, however. There is a lot of "flop" because there is basically only one big bolt holding the entire thing due to the swivel, so if feels flimsy and bounces a bit. But the real problems are the instructions are poorly written, and it takes forever to assemble the first time. The biggest problem for me, however, is the brake cables used for turning and lifting the plow. The lifting cable needs to be cut about two inches or you may end up pulling the lever down at the plow by hand, which is what I had to do. In fact, the other cable could also use a trim, even adjusted all the way. I would have preferred to see some sort of solid latch release instead of those flimsy cables.
