Easy to set up
The installation was easy. I use it with Xfinity, downloaded the app, it found it in a few minutes and set it up. Then I went to the Arris webpage to change the name of the network and password. It took me 5 minutes because it has to restart for the new information. Very easy.

Easy Setup. No problems with Puma chipset.
2/1/21 Update: I'm on my second refurb unit and the problem is the modem keeps disconnecting. MDD timeout happens every minute, probably because SINR and dbmV are too low. I'm certain the two refurb units are defective because my old modem works just fine with signals well within parameters and connection stable. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime return policy. Stick with buying a new one and not a refurb! So far so good for this refurb unit. Connectivity is a big improvement over my older surfboard SBG-6782. This newer 7400ac has more channels, appears more stable and responsive, and was easy to set up with Comcast/x-finity. I can’t comment on the Wi-Fi performance because I use a separate Ruckus R610 WAP which outperforms any combo router/modem/ap in my opinion.Programming was simple and standard for any Arris router/modem. Program your LAN IP address, set port firewall/port forwarding for your surveillance NVR, initiate modem online with Comcast, and I was all set and running after about 20mins.The only issue i had was slow speeds initially. That’s because the modem failed to update its firmware on the first attempt. Comcast updated the firmware remotely and my speeds are now consistently over 100Mbps.Very happy with this budget refurb unit, but it’s only been running for a week. Hope reliability is good and will update this review.

Worth the price and a perfect size
I wanted to upgrade my WIFI router and was looking for something that would work with my service but this router works great and I can connect the ethernet when needed. The WIFI speeds have been great so far and no real issues have occurred. If you want to upgraded from your Internet provided I would recommend this WIFI Router which is a 2 in 1.

Easy setup!
I don't normally leave review but I had to for this product...This was the easiest thing to setup. I followed someone's advice to reset the moment I plug in (so I did) once I plugged all my wires in it and went on my computer Xfinity picked up that a new gateway was plugged in they ask a few questions and BOOM! I had my internet up and running...Didn't have to call customer service. It was perfect. Wish I had done this years ago, paid so much money to comcast for their equipment.Update: Woke up one morning and my modem box is completely dead, only lasted a year. Had to get a new one.

Call Arris first for correct cable modem for your needs -Finally a WIFI cable modem that works
I have Xfinity as my provider who first recommended I blow 200 bucks on an Arris G36. Lost 160 bucks on that as by the time I installed it, too late to return. Then they recommended an Arris T25. Still have that dust collector as same deal, can't return and no one will give me 20 bucks for it. Finally called Arris who knew their stuff and they recommended this WIFI model that I purchased for 65 bucks refurbished and works great. Arris customer service dudes seem to be from India but work in downtown Philadelphia. Don't care as the folks at Xfinity are nice, don't give me a hard time when I want to purchase a piece of equipment of my own but I lost around 400 bucks until I finally called Arris and knew exactly the model I needed. Long term, I'd save 15 bucks a month. It appears I’m not the only person out there whose provider doesn't have a clue. Moral of the story is to call Arris, tell them your provider and what devices you need and they will save you hundreds of bucks unless you try to install it right away and can return it. Anyone out there want an Arris T25 in mint condition? JK as I'll post it again on Facebook's Marketplace for 15 bucks and see what happens.

not too bad
it's a good modem/router that is reliable for it's age but also a bit pricy for it's age given many if not all of them are old equipment from cable company's across the country. I went thru 3 orders and returns of this model before finding one that worked. The most important thing is be sure to "ACTIVATE" the modem or it will not properly sync with device or your provider, instructions should be in the shipping box, if not call seller as you will need it to get device wording!

A very disappointing modem/router experience
The Arris was advertised as a compatible modem/router for Xfinity. Buying the product would save me a modem rental of $25 a month, paying for itself in just 3 months! Imagine my excitement when I unpacked it, downloaded their Surfboard app. Everything went fine until I hooked it up to xfinity. It absolutely cannot be self-installed. I spent almost 4 hours with their phone based techs and could not get a signal out of it. All the lights were on, the TV and phone were able to hook up to the WiFi, but we could not get it onto the internet. Either this refurbished product is a piece of junk, or Xfinity doesn't look outside modems. Returned it immediately, after being up to 2 in the morning trying to install it over two nights. Avoid this one like the plague!

used or not, this is a great value.
this product is super easy to use. the whole issue with connecting with a carrier is the carrier does not have your serial number - mac address of the modem. So, unless you tell Comcast or other carriers that you need to give them your mac address, for your own customer owned modem it will not be recognized with comcast or any other carrier. let it integrate into comcast's system so the carrier can recognize this unit. Then you need to get the BILLING department to xo your rental modem and ACITVATE your customer owned modem.this is why you hear the horror stories of why the modems cannot be activated. Don't be discouraged by the used part of this. These modems can work for years and years without an issue.
