good for sticks and leaves. Not sure what others were trying to fish out that they said the pole isnt strong enough but this net is exactly what i expected. It's not a $50 fishing net. It is strong enough to move the filter towards the edge so i don't have to completely get in the pond to remove it for cleaning. If you are trying to get out things like pine needs or really thin objects like this, it doesnt work quite as well. I did have to buy a large aquarium net for that but they each serve their own purpose.

Nice Net
We are happy with this purchase so far. This is replacing an old pond net with mesh that finally deteriorated beyond repair. The diameter of the holes in the new net are approximately 1/8". The old net had a finer mesh so time will tell if the larger holes are able to pick up smaller debris. The stated handle length of 41" is correct, and the handle is 1/2" in diameter. The widest part of the opening is about 12", and the height of the opening in the middle is about 9". The depth of the net is around 11".

It’s a net. It catches fish. We have koi - some big some small. It caught all of them.

When I received this item, it had a hole in the netting. The hole wasn't that big and the netting seems pretty strong so I didn't send it back. I think it happened in shipping as the box was pretty ripped up. The net is excellent for catching the fish but the holes in the netting are too big to catch the "small stuff" in the pond when I'm trying to clean it. Next time, I will get a smaller net.

Great Net Combo
It does what it's supposed to do. One will skim your pond of leaves and debris. The other will catch your fish. It will not (or is it designed to) lift up 20 pounds of rock and gravel.

Great net
This is by far the best dipping net we have ever bought - In this case I bought it for a goldfish pond,The netting is heavy duty and the guard keeps the net from snagging and wearing as you pull it across the bottom.The pole is solid enough, but personally I would like it to be a larger diameter and longer - this pole is maybe 3/4 - 1/2 diameter and only about 4' long..
