Mastering the Business of Organizing: A Guide to Plan, Launch, Manage, Grow, and Leverage a Profitable, Professional Organizing Business, 2nd ed., revised

I had the pleasure of training with Anne at her Institute for Professional Organizers waaaay back in May 2011, before I even incorporated my business (October 2011). Anne's intensive course saved me from expensive mistakes and gave me significantly more confidence that I could serve my clients faithfully and successfully. Her book has a similar value. It is a practical guide for a brand-new Organizer for the "what to do" and "what to consider" touchstones she offers in an easy-to-approach format. But it is just as useful for an established Organizer for reminders of what s/he may have forgotten, been unaware of, or become complacent about. Take a look, although I also urge anyone considering the vocation of Professional Organizer to take her course, and I'd never shy from suggesting a more seasoned colleague is never hurt by a refresher class or two. I was looking for a book exactly like this to give me a sense of what is required to start my own organizing business. This is very thorough. It takes you step by step on everything you need to know about starting a business. What it does not do is give you step by step instructions on building an organizing system, although the author does direct you to her website and company if you want to take (and pay for ) classes on how to learn to organize. So, if you are an organized person and have your own system and want to share that system with others to create a business, this book will be very useful.

I've read many books on this topic and most were good but had many grammatical errors and misspellings. This book gives more information than most books I've ever read and I didn't not one inconsistency or incongruity. I applaud the author and look to see what other publications she would authoring next. I knew she knows a lot more than she's disclosed in this book. But thank you.

This book is invaluable if you are starting a professional organizing business. It walks you thru all of the necessary steps to get your business off the ground and keep it operating successfully. I have read and re-read it and continue to refer back to it as needed. Anne Blumer writes in such a friendly and sincere way that it feels like she is speaking directly to you. I highly recommend it to anyone starting or considering starting an organizing business.

This book is a very helpful guide for people who aspire to start their own professional organizing business, especially those who haven't started their own business before. It provides such a wealth of information that I read it twice prior to enrolling and completing her certified organizer program. The content covers many different areas, and makes the process of setting up your own business feel more manageable. It also helps you allocate your resources (i.e. time, money, energy) better for a more efficient startup. It was a pleasure to read, and I'm glad that it was on NAPO's list of suggested reading for this profession.

This is the book you have been searching for if you are thinking about or struggling to start your own organizing business!!She covers everything you need to know....websites and associations and more for references.I could go on and on but will let you find out yourself!

Clear, simple, yet very comprehensive information.I've read a few books on how to start your professional organizing business and this one is my BIBLE.Very inspiring as well!
