This was my first complete rebuild of a Honda Clone (GX420 style 190f engine) on a DuroStar 10,000W generator. Except for the 90mm piston on the 420/190f vs the 88mm piston on the 390/188f everything on/in the head assembly are the same for the 188f & 190f engines. Including the head itself (head casting marks 188f/C04). I didn't know that at the time & no one including the Sellers I reached out to knew if they would work. So I took a chance, purchased the valve assembly kit for the 390/188f and it paid off. I would only recommend that for the crack case gasket you may want to use High Tack Spray gasket sealer or Copper Hi-Temp, self adhesive spray-a-gasket as the "inexpensive" paper gaskets are thin paper only & not the neoprene+paper composite like automotive gaskets and may leak. I had to redo my case gasket a second time using the gasket sealer. (Note: it might have been easier to just use Silicone Gasket maker but I was following the Chongqing RATO Engine MFG co. service manual that is the "standard goto" manual for most, if not all, of these Clone engines if you need spec's & pro eedures. Parts numbers won't match but the technical info will).In this kit you'll get 2 valve guide seals & 2 valve end protectors for the exhaust valve but you'll only need to use 1 set. Which has already come in handy as I lost one end protector when I went back in to lap the valves for the 4th time after the cylinder leak down test showed more than 20% loss of pressure before lapping. And I highly recommend you preform a leak down test after rebuilding the head. After buying permatex Prussian Blue lapping dye & 4 attempts at lapping, I finally got it down to 7% LOP. Also note that the pushrod guide is slightly adjustable, so make sure it's placed correctly, which doesn't necessarily mean centered but rather placed where the pushrods are best aligned with the rocker arms. Mine is just slightly (±0.002") to the left of center. And the higher raised side of the plastic guide holes face downwards, towards the valve tappets/engine block. Also save the old "lower exhaust valve spring center guide", a thin washer like plate that fits over the valve guide and keeps the exhaust valve spring from traveling because none of these kits have one. And...these may fit your Honda Clone generator engines. worth a try..the cLones are very difficult to get exact replacement parts but they are all based on Honda Engines, subtle differences. this kit may have the part you need.;

Good buy seems to be on point

This kit fit my GXV390 which is one of Honda's WORST engines.Prone to overheating, hence the valve and rocker failure.The seals seemed a good quality.The included "rod-guide" did not fit... I recycled the existing.

Had all the parts I needed to do a simple rebuild on my Honda 13hp engine. All parts are of good quality and worked like they should!

First of all the kit came with 2 intake valves not 1 in and 1 ex like the discription says. Regardless the intake valve was a 1/8 inch to short! Wich messed my timing all up backfiring through carb. The only things usable in this kit are the valve stem seals and the rockers... I got these for my Honda GX390

Ordered Wrong! Luckily essential parts were the same; up and running, will be more careful when ordering for the rebuild.
