BIOS Flash May Be Required.
As someone who has built computers going on 20 years I have learned that you always check the compatibility chart to make sure that the CPU and Memory your buying will work with your Motherboard because what you find on the store page may not be right. Now being that the processor was 3rd on the list I'm good right? Not so much. What MSI didn't have on their chart was that you have to update the BIOS before that processor will work. And because this broad doesn't have the flash button like some of their other board you have to have an older processor to do that. Now when you do some digging to MSI's credit they do give you a way to fix this via a link to AMD's boot kit page. AMD will send free of charge a boot kit with a older processor for you to use for 10 days so you can flash your BIOS and get your new processor working. Don't know who long this is going to take but there's' a fix. For those of you that want to upgrade your processor the good news is that you don't have to change you Motherboard just update your BIOS. I wish the would have made * note on the compatibility chart about the BIOS flash would have saved me some time.

Perfect for my needs.
This motherboard fits my needs perfectly. It has adequate connections and, for the price, it performs very well. The only drawback is that it has only two RAM slots, though I knew this before buying it. I had originally planned on getting the B450M PRO-VDH Max, but Amazon was out of stock (and still is). I couldn't really wait that long, so I went with this. Granted, I'll likely never need more than the 16GB of RAM I presently have, as I"m not a gamer, but the option still would have been nice. But, other than that, I'm very satisfied with this board, and I'm glad I chose it.Ryzen 5 3400G16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR-4 3000MHzXPG SX8200 Pro NVME m.2 SSD - 512GBEVGA 500 BR 80+ Bronze 500W PSUFor reference, the MAX rated B450 boards from MSI are Gen3 Ryzen ready. There's no need to update the BIOS beforehand.

This is a great motherboard for a budget Ryzen 3000 build
This is a great budget motherboard in my opinion, at least for my needs it was. This was my very first build, and i wanted to build a low cost pc that could handle VR, & be upgraded in the future, and at about $70, it was priced about right. I got all my parts in and started installing everything, it all went in nice and smoothly. It has an m.2 slot, so I will get a m.2 memory card later on for the O.S. and a few other programs. Right now I'm using an HDD that was borrowed from another computer, which hooked right up with the SATA cable that was included with the motherboard (comes with 2 actually, 1 normal straight cable, and 1 with a 90° angle). The only problem I ran into was with the I/O shield, when I lined it up as I was installing it, it all looked good so I screwed the motherboard down and everything looked lined up & good. But after getting it all together, I find that one of the tabs on the shield was lodged into the HDMI port. I pulled it out and bent it over, there was no way i was going to fight the little screws on the top row of the board again without a magnetic tip screwdriver, lol. I got it all together & hooked up and visually inspected everything, (freaking out a little because I just know I forgot something or did something wrong, being my first build) I flipped the power switch, hit the power button and BOOM...I've got power. Went into BIOS menu, slot different than the Dell & HP BIOS's that I was used to, lol. It has options to overclock your CPU & RAM, I haven't tried it yet but I do intend on boosting my memory up some. It also displays your CPU temperature, which I wasn't used to. Overall, if you are buying a b450m board on a budget, you cant go wrong with this motherboard. If not on a budget, I would of got the MSI Gaming Plus...maybe in the future. I recommend the MSI B450M Pro-M2 MAX motherboard.

Great motherboard for the 3400G.
I have been building computers for almost 20 years. If you are looking for a board to par with a 2400G or 3400G this is a great match. For a 3400G you do not have to update the BIOS. You would only have to update the BIOS if you used a 3600 or higher. The 3400 is still based on Zen 1.5. The reason I like to par this with a 3400G is all the video outputs. You can run 3 screens on this thing. Makes for a fantastic workstation or media computer. The board would work fine with a 3600 and a video card if you update the BIOS but for that build I would go with the MSI gaming Plus just to get yourself a little stronger VRM.

Decided to build instead of buy a desktop. This worked great.
After looking at what the big box stores had for desktops for about $500 I decided I could probably go back to my roots and build something more powerful and flexible for less. I was right. I looked around online and found a site that essentially lists components for sale on Amazon to build PC's at various budget levels. I think this was their $400 build. I deviated in that I took advantage of the on board SDD card slot versus stand alone SDD drive and in that I had a 3TB drive that I used, but otherwise used this board and a Ryzen 2600 processor. Super stable from day one. I didn't overclock it. Hasn't hung a single time. Drivers were in the box and available on line. The only thing I will tell you is that you need a wired keyboard and a USB mouse to fire up Windows 10. I knew the former, and used the wired keyboard to make sure that the boot order was USB drive (preloaded with Win 10, MS has a site which will create a bootable copy easy peasy) but once I was loading Win 10, to tell it to proceed I needed the mouse.

Après avoir testé avec Rise if the T.R. Dommage!

Dont invest in this
Its a very bad motherboard for ryzen 5 3rd gen can handle its power. My pc had Ryzen 5 3400g with 16gb ram and for 2 day it worked well but suddenly it started showing problem in ram and the next day in cpu.Really disappointed with the product.I will not suggest MSI motherboards for your build because when I searched about the problem most users who shared this problem was regarding msi motherboards.
